Do self tanning lotion or spray stain your hands or clothes?

i want to apply some kind of tanning product for prom. I never used it before and i want have before may 15 my prom. i dont know which prduct to use or whch type or even when to apply it? i dont want it to stain my dress or my hands. please help : (Do self tanning lotion or spray stain your hands or clothes?
i wld go to a salon and get the spray tan

it looks a lot better and you will have no worries about the big day

it stains ur hands if u don't wash it of and not ur clothes(self applying lotion)Do self tanning lotion or spray stain your hands or clothes?
Some can stain your clothes if it is not totally dry. By dry i mean its been a few days since application. As for the hands, all you need to do is wash them after use and you should be good. If you get it done by a pro they take care of all this. Be careful though because fake tans tend to look orange on most people. Pale skin can be quite pretty. Modals and celebs are more often pale and still mangage to look beautiful. But anyways, whatever you decide try not to focus on what your skin looks like. Have fun at prom!
make sure when you apply the lotion/ spray you follow the directions on the bottle and make sure you don't miss any bits

otherwise you will have lighter patches

make sure your skin is dry before you put your clothes back on and always wash your hands thou roughly after wards
Youth is the best potion one can have and its free----just use that--don't be foolish!!!!!!!!!!
okay ignore that first idiot. and yes if you need to wear some gloves, like the kind you would use if you colored your hair. if you use a lotion tanner. the best kind is to use the spray kind. and have your mom apply it about 12'; away from you in light mists, so it wont run. just like using spray paint.

this website is a good ';how to'; it tell you what to do b4 and after you spray tan

My feet and sometimes hands too get really dry and i HAVE to have lotion?

why does this happen? almost every night right when i get in bed or have been in bed for a while my hands and feet get really cold and dry where i have to put lotion on and wear fuzzy thick socks just to be comfortable. why does this happen? thanks

God bless-livieMy feet and sometimes hands too get really dry and i HAVE to have lotion?
It's probably just your body temperature/skin type. I think that you might want to see the skin problem with a dermatologist. Or, you could try putting baby oil on, specifically johnson and johnson oil. It really lasts a while and it makes your whole body feeling really well. As for the socks, I also have to wear socks because they get cold. I think it differs with other people though.

Good luck! :)My feet and sometimes hands too get really dry and i HAVE to have lotion?
Do you feel any numbness? I would check for two possibilities. 1) diabetes. It creates a condition called neuropothy

2) restless leg syndrom or a condition that is cutting off blood flow. I experience this even when it's hot outside

I don't think there is any one best lotion as long as you use it consistently your hands will feel good.

I like Lubriderm because they are fragrence free and hypoallergenic. They make all types of lotions for people who have extremely dry skin to lighter ones for people who don't have dry skin.
glycerin ,rose water %26amp; lemon juice in equal amount , applied at night is the best.
Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion! I wash my hands all of the time because I work in a hospital. This is the one I use to help me get through some really dry times like during winter.

Something I do as well is use an St. Ives apricot scrub all over my hands for about a minute, which takes off all of the dry, scaling cells then rinse well. This makes them super smooth! Then put a good amount of the lotion I mentioned above all over your hands and let them dry for about 20 minutes. They will continue to be moisturized for up to 24 hours afterwards. Both products can be bought at Walmart or any drug store.

If my hands always smell like lotion will my parents know that i masterbate a lot?

help?If my hands always smell like lotion will my parents know that i masterbate a lot?
What you do in your own room is your business. So what if your parents know you masturbate. It's normal. Good Luck.If my hands always smell like lotion will my parents know that i masterbate a lot?
Unless you're referring to the smell of the lotion you use to masturbate (and I'd hope that you wash your hands after), then using lotion to moisturise has no bearing on masturbation whatsoever!
parents already know their kids masturbate. Its a fact of life and everyone does it.. even your parents
Almost anyone whho has been thru adolescents, which is everyone already knows you do
    depends if they used lotion
Dont use lotion. Rawdog that thing.
no, just say you like to moisturize.

How do you remove sunless tanning lotion from skin?!?!?!? MY HANDS ARE ORANGE!!?

I put on mary Kay Sunless tanning lotion last night. It looks just like regular white lotion, because it takes 6 hours for the color to take effect. My legs are even, but i forgot to wash my hands, so they're all blotchy and orange! Soap and water won't do the trick. any suggestions on what to try? and how long these things last? How do you remove sunless tanning lotion from skin?!?!?!? MY HANDS ARE ORANGE!!?
Try a pumice block, rub your soapy hands on it, gently, the stained skin will eventually come off. Do it several times a day, not for a long time, try not to irritate the skin. You can also try a footscrub with pumice or apricot or walnut shells in it, or look for Lava bar soap, all of these are abrasives, and once the top few layers of stained skin have been rubbed off, you'll have normal looking skin again. I've even used an emory board or nail file block to get such stuff off, but please be careful, whatever you choose. And if nothing else works, the skin will slough off in a couple/few days on its own, though I know it's tough to wait. Good luck! How do you remove sunless tanning lotion from skin?!?!?!? MY HANDS ARE ORANGE!!?
Oh no! I'm sorry! Try lemon... not just the juice the pulp and all...
    Try vaseline, it may work.
try rubbing lemon juice on it it works for me!!
Try a loofa or a pumus stone. You basically need to remove all the skin cells that have been dyed by the chemical.
    Exfoliating body scrub!!!

    Try St. Ives.

    Scrub Scrub Scrub!!!
Non-Acetone fingernail polish remover, then wash with soap and water immediately.
Lemon juice worked for me :]
Shampoo, or lemon juice should remove it. I have also been told nail polish remover but never tried it.
I've been told to cut up a lemon and let it soak on the area for about 3 minutes and then it should wash off. There are also cloths that you can buy in stores that are sunless tanner removers, I think they are made by L'Oreal or Neutrogena and you can get them at most places like Walgreens. The following link has a lot of ideas too! Next time wipe your hands off with a wet towel and put vaseline around nails.

Is there a powder or lotion to treat sweaty hands?

I have clammy hands and was just wondering if there was a lotion or powder that I can buy to make my hands dry. It is somewhat bothering me when I shake someone hands in public. Is there a powder or lotion to treat sweaty hands?
I've heard Gold Bond works. Is there a powder or lotion to treat sweaty hands?
surgical spirit is very good for stopping sweaty hands or any type of talc powder.
If you have really excessively drippy palms, there is a simple surgical procedure to fix it. It has saved people with this common problem who could not have normal lives before because of sweaty palms.
You could also try using an under arm anti persperant. Get the spray on kind so it isn't gooey.
try using a little bit of corn starch on your palms works for babies and has no odor. good luck

What is the best OTC lotion to help with dry, cracked, splitting hands?

Corn Husker's Lotion works good %26amp; is oil free.

There is also a new product you can find on line called ';Working Man's Hands'; My husband's mom sent us some. We lovebeing ourside %26amp; this has worked very well to keep my hands soft %26amp; his from drying %26amp; cracking....
it's not really a lotion, but you can find it in the lotion aisle at the store, it comes in a small tub, it's called Aquaphor Healing Ointment. it's a white tub with a navy blue lid. it will heal dry skin overnight. i swear by it. i use put it on my lips twice a day and i never need chapstick anymore. it's so amazing!!
    aquarfor

    Expensive but good
I got this question all the time as I worked in a pharmacy near a hairdressing college (all the girls turned up with 'hairdresser hands' from the chemicals). You need to find a lotion/thick cream that has a high urea content. Slather all over the hands as often as possible, keep hands out of water and especially avoid soap: use soap substitutes such as sorbolene cream/lotion for washing hands. Wear gloves as much as possible to prevent hands from getting wet. At night before bed, apply the lotion/cream thickly and then put on a pair of cotton gloves (not very sexy but works wonders). Begone, hairdresser hands! :)
I tried every lotion because my hands were that way too. From working outside. I finally found this new lotion from Gold Bond that makes my hands super soft. You should most definitely recommend it to them. It's in a white tube and I got it at Wal Mart.

    http://www.goldbondultimate.com/info.asp

    it really works.
I have had eczema all my life and I have found that Neutragena products work, and so does Aveeno. Also, for the cracking, I use Neosporin (with a bandage) to heal them up. Sometimes, I just put the Neosporin on my hands and rub it in and let it soak in before bed. That works pretty good too. I also found out by accident that VO5 for your hair works to soften my hands too. I stay away from cocoa butter, that usually makes my skin burn. I also stay away from aloe (I'm allergic to it) and I stay away from lanolin as a major ingredient (it also burns my skin). Hope this helps.
Bag Balm, works great, helps them heal, you can get it at most Pharmacies.
Neautragina Norweigan hand cream is the best.
I used vaseline at night with gloves on and lubriderm during the day.

should work fine and is very affordable
    Pure petroleum jelly
Either Hydroxy or anything thats labeled with ';creamy petroleum jelly'; since the latter retains moisture better. If it has vitamin E its even better.

    i have this same problem.
I wouldn't go with a lotion at all. Go for ';burt's bees hand salve';. They sell it in this really small round tin (with the pic of a guy with a beard on it). Back when I was working in a gas station with all sorts of chemicals on my hands, it was the only thing that consistently fixed it. They usually sell it at Walgreen's and similar stores.
avon skin so soft is really good !
ok, this may sound odd, but use lanolin for most of the dry skin problems, and yes it is also used for breastfeeding mothers, and diaper rashes and also try cocoa butter
    working hands cream

    hempz body butter

mary kay extra emollient night cream
    St. Ives
l had severe exma on hands growing up and successfully cured it, cuts and all with sorbolene based creams. Try smothering hands with sorbolene (with added vit e) at night and wearing cotton gloves under any rubber gloves when working if possible. l found that usually alternating with others such as comfrey and lavender. When extreme had to resort to steroid based cream from drs. Bathing them in warm water with lavender and teatree oil(just a couple of drops of each) would help ease. Lanolin is also very good.
    Aquaphor.
Sephora makes its own line of cosmetics and stuff, and they have this great stuff called a ';Whipped Body Delight.'; It's really just hand cream in a pretty tub, with a very nice smell. It can cost 8$ or 10$, depending on which kind you want (sephora.com, Sephora Stores). Also, Bliss has this Maximum Moisture Cream that smells like lemon and sage and it comes in this huge tube, but it's about 30$ (blissworld.com, sephora.com, Sephora Stores, Blush Stores). Also, Aquaphor (drugstores, 8$ about) works nicely, as its basically just vaseline. If they use these consistently, their hands should get softer and moisturized.
coco butter, in any brand, just smother it on and let it soak in over night. if you do, do it at night put socks on over the lotion, so it doesn't rub off while you sleep.
Try Lotrim, or Clotrimazole Cream USP, 1%

I know it say its for athlete's foot, and it relieves itching and burning. But some Dr's do prescribe it for very dried and crackle skin, but it is an OTC.

This may sound really wierd, but trust me, it works. Get a hand cream, some medical tape and gause. Rub cream on your fingers, put on gause and tape with the tape. Sleep like that and If you do that enough, your hands will return to normal! Good Luck!!!

    %26lt;3 Gemma Ward

e-mail me at marcjacobschic@yahoo.com if you have any ?'s!!How to get read of dry hands wen lotion does not work?
There are two things that have always worked for me

    1. Bag Balm- you can buy it at Walgreen's in the lotion aisle, it's actually for cow's udders but it works awesome on your hands and feet

    2. Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Body Creme-Again you'll find it in the lotion aisle, it's really good for chapped hands because it has Urea and Lactic Acid which exfoliate the dead skin and mineral oil and other good things to moisturize.

In the meantime, use gloves if you have to put your hands in hot water, or use chemicals (when you're cleaning and what not) Also last winter I had really chapped hands and cut chili peppers with out gloves and all I can say is OUCH! So use caution when cutting things like chilies and citrus fruits.

I hope this helps you...good luck!
Go to the pharmacy and ask for AmLactin. It costs about $7.00, and it really works. You don't need a prescription to get it, but it can be hard to find. If you don't like that idea, put tons and tons of Vaseline on your hands and then put your hands in socks. Do this before you go to bed, and when you wake up they should feel a lot better. This is one of the oldest beauty secrets ever, and it works. My husband uses it on his hands, and I use it on my feet. Sometimes my husband's hands get so dry that they crack and bleed, and then he switches to the AmLactin, which does the job every time. Good luck.
You are using the wrong kind of lotions. The stuff you buy in the cosmetic isles isn't worth looking at. C'mon, if you can't read it, should it go onto your skin? The FDA doesn't regulate cosmetics so they pour anything and everything into it to make it rich and creamy...not safe and hydrating!
Try Oils. You might not be able to go to your local bath and body works. I would try Whole Foods, they have some really nice body oils there.

    * also body butter is really good (bath %26amp; body works)

    * or even try coco butter ( you can find that anywhere)
My kids have eczema and that is essentially the bodies inability to hold moisture in the skin. The get such dry hands and the dermetologist told us to use,...*brace yourself* Crisco. If u can tolerate it, it works miracles. At night, just before bed, dab on a small amount of PLAIN CRISCO(NOT BUTTER FLAVORED!) and rub, rub, rub it in. Wal-Mart sells thin cotton gloves for this type of purpose(could use socks) and sleep. Insane how this works. Do it for a night or two and BAM! Soft hands...=) I do this for my kids' entire bodies twice a week and rarely have eczema problems! Hope this helps! Try to use a skin creme, not lotion during day, much thicker.

**Can do this for feet or just about anywhere, and u WILL not be greasy in the morning**
    *rid* *when*
Stop using over the counter lotions and get ones that are really good. Cremes instead of lotions work best when skin is very dry. This is what my father uses and mom. My dad works in the farm where all the vegetable meds dry up his hands so he uses this to stop the dryness which use to make his hands crack. But since he started using this his hands has gotten a little better.http://cgarcia1.qhealthbeauty.com/produc鈥?/a>
Try exfoliating (getting rid of surface dead skin %26amp; dirt) before apply a moisturiser for dry skin . Works for me.

i put on, it stays that way! doesd anybody else have hands like this? any remedies? it is so embarassinggggOkay, i need major help: im in my early teens are my hands are already sooo rough. no matter how much lotion?
Apply lotion as often as possible. They have special lotions for people with extra dry skin. If you live in a cold area, wear gloves as often as possible because this will chap your skin and cause it to get dry and crack. During the summer it will probably improve.Okay, i need major help: im in my early teens are my hands are already sooo rough. no matter how much lotion?
are your drinking enough water? keep hydrated inside and out. use a scrub, something gentle with moisturizers, then apply a glycerine based cream over damp skin. adding cream to dry skin just protects the skin from outside forces, adding it to damp skin seals in the moisture so it can soften and penetrate. sleep with cotton gloves. look at why your skin is so dry, perhaps yu have alergy to soap that you use in the shower, shampoo etc?
Use a rouph scrub... then tons of lotion then put your hands in a pair of gloves. Like the ones you can get in the winter at the grocery store... keep those on for a couple hours... you can use rubber gloves but not for too long they will prune your hands.
All of the suggestions about lotion and gloves are great. Another thing you can do is to put vaseline on your hands, and sleep in gloves. That also works well for your feet.
Use a cream for hands as often as possible. Wear gloves in the cold weather.

Personally, i LOVE bath %26amp; body works lotion. It's a little on the expensive side, but if you want incredible smooth and soft hands, this is a great lotion. My favorite scents are sweet pea, wild honeysuckle, magnolia blossom, and coconut lime verbena. if you go to the b%26amp;b works store, they have sampler lotions for free so you can try them out. If you want a non-scented lotion, then I suggest Curel ultra healing lotion. it is dermatologist tested and helps to heal and prevent dry skin.

I used a self tanner lotion and it won't come off my hands?

I used soap and water a million times and it won't work.

    Please, any suggestions !

10 points thanks.I used a self tanner lotion and it won't come off my hands?
lol! i had had the same problem! what i didn't know was that i had to wash my Hands as soon as i was done putting the lotion on my legs! after i read the back of the lotion it did say... ';make sure to wash Hands as soon as your done'; i really could not take it off! i just gave up, n i washed my Hands constantly and eventually it came off! am so sorry but i really don't think there is nothing to put on for it to take off. mine went off in a couple of days! just wash your Hands constantly %26amp; rub them hard 2gether. %26amp; dont worry here in 2 days it will be gone! just remember.... next time you do that... make shure to wash your hads as soon as your done putting it on!I used a self tanner lotion and it won't come off my hands?
You can use acetone and try rubbing with lemon juice and salt.

Next time you tan-- put vaseline on your hands and wait for it to soak in. Then continue to tan. You should never need to worry about orange/brown hands again! Best of luck to you.
when you put it on you have to take a hand towel and rub it off before it dries and makes you orange looking.and also, self tanning lotion goes on smooth and un-blotchy when your skin is already moisturized so put another type of lotion on before you use the tanning one :)
Lemon juice and exfoliator. Rub both on your hands at the same time. You have to make sure you wash your hands right after using that stuff. Also, slather vaseline all over your hands and sleep with them in gloves or socks. Vaseline has a tenancy to eat away at the pigment in dyes. Good Luck.
First of all, you should have read the directions on the back of the bottle, it tells you to wash your hands immediately.

To solve your problem try using some lemon juice with some sugar and rub it all over your hands...and next time read the directions!
You need to use an exfoliant. If you don't have any, you could try using oatmeal and water, or salt (or sugar) and olive oil. It might not come off completely but it will speed the process.
Dial soap or lemon juice should get it off I did the same thing back when I went to prom a long time ago lol

Good luck most citruses will get it off
Try some rubbing alcohol and then soap and water again.
    Try with alcohol!

    OMG!
Try Nail Polish Remover. Then Moisturize you hands good.
Use an exfolliater or bleach You should have read the package!!
take a lemon, cut it in half, and rub it on you hands.

Why do dog's try/like to lick lotion you put on your hands?

Just curious...it's quite annoying....anyone know the answer to this crazy canine conundrum? Why do dog's try/like to lick lotion you put on your hands?
    It's a bonding thing. Most species of mammals indulge in some kind of mutual grooming: Horses nibble each others' backs, wolves kiss, primates run their fingers through each others' fur. The 'offending substance,' the lotion, is almost just a pretext for the licking. Your dog is saying, ';Hey, I like you, and I like the way things are between us...let's keep it like this, OK? (Here, let me get that nasty stuff off of you.)';

But if you don't like it, keep your hands out of reach until the lotion's had a chance to be absorbed...then pet him. Remember, dogs don't have hands...so when he licks you, he's just trying to 'pet' you back! Why do dog's try/like to lick lotion you put on your hands?
Because they think it smells weird and have just GOT to taste it!
I figure they probably think the location doesn't belong there. They are use to smelling the person's scent %26amp; they think they are cleaning you up!! Helping you out. Doing you a favor!!

Dogs are really smart if you see things their way.

They have no idea what lotion is or why we put it in ourselves!!
I think they like the smell of all the emollients. My youngest dog grabbed a $12.00 tub of some Avon super moisturizer cream tore the lid off and with her prehensile tongue ate 6 oz of some very good skin cream, with no ill effects except her breath smelled like hand cream for a couple days
    smell
    They like the taste.
probably they r just curious, because they have a sense of smell and they see you using it and they must think it is something taht must either smell of taste good
they like the smell,so they think its food.

Hi..i would try hand cleaner like the mechanics use. It is cheap and can be bought at Walmart or Canadian tire. Rub it on, let sit for a half hour, then wash as usual. I use it for all kinds of stains. Is there a good lotion or something that takes off the newspaper ink from your hands?
Try WD-40. Spray a little on hands and rub them together, leave it on for a few minutes then wash with soap and water.
dump the lotion , use soap and water and a finger nail brush and scrub hard
Soap and water works for me.

How do you moisturize your hands w/o lotion?

i've been moisturizing my hands like crazy for the past two days. lotion is so oil-y though! i don't really like it because i have to do homework and it gets on everything and my hands are so slippery. What are other ways to moisturize hands w/o lotion? [like home- remedys, etc.]How do you moisturize your hands w/o lotion?
Try using a moisturizing hand soap. Also wear gloves to keep your hands dry when you're washing dishes (dishwashing soap is very hard on your hands).

The best thing would be to change to a different kind of lotion. They're not all the same. I like Aveeno. It only feels greasy for about 30 seconds after you put it on, but it still moisturizes.

Usually grocery stores and places like Walmart sell trial sizes of all sorts of moisturizers. You should buy a few and try them all out until you find one that works best. How do you moisturize your hands w/o lotion?
use a lighter moistuiser one that absorbs in the skin quickly

Normally what brand do you use? I need one that really works well.LADIES only: Do you put moisturizer or baby lotion on your boobies ? Then what about your hands?
I use to but I have found something better. There's this great stuff by www.malie.com Check it out. It's an all over in shower body moisturizer that TRULY lasts longer than any type moisturizer I have ever tried. It is their Mango Butter Bun or Buttercup- same thing, different sizes. It looks like a round bar of soap that you rub on your body before you get out of the shower. You just hold it under the warm spray for 5 seconds and then rub on like moisturizer. It's much nicer though as it glides on so easily. It replaces any lotion you would normally use. It has mango butter, Cocoa Butter, Vit. E and antioxidants in it. Plus, it's always best to moisturize when your skin is wet as you want to lock in the moisture. It is pretty amazing stuff and I have really dry skin, esp. in the winter. I find that my skin on my body is still soft and moisturized even 24 hours later. It is also so nice not to have to get out of the shower and freeze trying to put on body lotion!!! You don't want to use this on your face though as it's TOO moisturizing for that.

Hands- Aveda Hand Relief, www.aveda.com I often mention their hair products on here as it is the only brand I will use. I got a sample of it at my salon this Christmas and am already hooked.

Both items are in the mid-price range but the way I look at it, if you buy something cheaper that doesn't work, you aren't going to use it and that's really wasting money.LADIES only: Do you put moisturizer or baby lotion on your boobies ? Then what about your hands?
I use lotion on my boobs everytime after i shower. sorta like massage it around.. It keeps it soft, and yea when my hands are dry i use lotion 2.
I use honey on my breasts
I use Johnsons baby sorbolene , its the best moisturizer for my skin
Moisturizer-Olive Oil by Palmers. And the same for my hands.
I really like the aromatherapy brand from bath and body works. its just about the best thing you can use. I use lotions and moisturizers all over.don't feel ashamed.anyway,in the aromatherapy brand, try jasmine vanilla or lavender.those are my personal favorites.
i use vaseline..its good...but i only put it on my hands, arms and legs.
Yes. I use kiehls. its the best - it's so creamy and smooth and works really well! You should definitely pick up a sample at Nordstrom and try it! I know that you will like it.
    Johnsons Baby Oil Gel.
I don't use moisturizer on my chest, I use lotion.. basically, the pomegranate one from Bath %26amp; Body Works.
I use cucumber melon lotion. Then just

    rub it in my hands.
I use Johnson's baby lotion in lavender all over my body. Besides it making my skin soft, lavender has a way of relaxing you. And yes I use it on my breasts too. Nipples can get chapped just like anything else.
I use moisturizer all over. For my feet vaseline. For my hands burt bees or some other hand cream along with Vitamin E oil for my cuticles.

Recommended lotion for REALLY dry hands?

I have really dry hands and the lotion I have been using now for about 1 week has no effect. What lotion would you recommend?Recommended lotion for REALLY dry hands?
Get Vaseline and gloves. Put Vaseline on your hands and put gloves on after. Do this before bed and wear all night. Your hands will be WELL moisturized in the morning.Recommended lotion for REALLY dry hands?
I love Aveda hand lotion, although the price is crazy - $19 a tube. I usually treat myself once or twice a year.

Aveeno's hand lotion is really good too, and less than half the price. It doesn't make your hands as soft as the Aveda does, but it gets rid of the dryness and roughness without being greasy.
Try a body butter. instead of a lotion.
Try a body cream from Bath %26amp; Body Works. Also, if you don't want to spend that much try St. Ives lotion for dry skin! It really helps my husband's hands.
Eucerin calming cream is my fave. I also hear bag balm is a great product.

How to get hand-prints created by sun-tan lotion off a car ?

I am soon to receive a car off a member of family. But there are two large unsightly hand-prints fd on the side of the car that have been created by a youngster with sun tan cream on their hands. I have been recommended to use T Cut to get it off. Does anybody know if this will work or if there are any better methods, (beside having to respray the whole car)? How to get hand-prints created by sun-tan lotion off a car ?
wow...respraying? Either I'm uninformed about suntan lotions or this just requires a solid cleaning with unconventional chemicals. There's a bottle of cleaner called Goo-Gone (not Goof-Off)...in order to get rid of any confusion, just get it at the auto-parts store (I think Goof-Off is too harsh for car paints and clear coats...it is some wicked stuff though).

I've also used kerosene to clean tar spots off of a white car. Just make sure to rinse immediately.

Finally, I know that Ardex (a professional car care supplier) has this stuff that got pine tree sap off of my hood in seconds. It was at a body shop when I noticed it, and one of the painters came outside with the bottle...don't think you can buy it at any old store, but I'm sure you could ask someone to break a little bit it for you if you're nice.

No...not finally...have you tried rubbing compound? It's like an exfoliator for car paint. If that won't get it, nothing will. Wash your car, use the rubbing compound and then wax it.

If none of this works, I'm never using suntan lotion again! How to get hand-prints created by sun-tan lotion off a car ?
the ';safest'; way is to use painters clay, or overspray clay..... it's called different things in different areas. You rub the area with the clay, and the oils and impurities will lift off. You will need to wax your car afterwards. It can be picked up at almost any auto parts store.
light rubbing compound ( wax %26amp; silicone free) should do the trick... but try just plain ole car wax and soem elbow grease 1st

Can lotions, (hand, body, face, etc.), ruin or spoil?

I have several bottles of different kinds that were purchased from here %26amp; there, but only a little was used out of them. They got pushed back %26amp; now I don't know if they're good anymore. I'd hate to throw a nearly full bottle away, but I sure don't want to keep them if they're no good. Can lotions, (hand, body, face, etc.), ruin or spoil?
If you're a beauty junkie like me, invest a dollar into a permanent marker pen and write the date on each product when you buy it. For products like body and face lotions, calculate about a year. For Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum, provided it is kept in a cool, dark place, calculate 1-2 years. Makeup is MUST- replace most products after 6 mos!Can lotions, (hand, body, face, etc.), ruin or spoil?
throw them away if u cant remember when u got them

thats what i did 2 weeks ago.. all the creams, foundations and stuff that i bough a long time ago - garbage

even though i spent a lot of money on them and i felt bad, its the best thing to do

u dont want to ruin your skin by using bad products
usually lotions have a shelf life of 2 to 3years but yeah... its really not worth keeping an almost full bottle of lotion if your going to have rashes with it... there was one time i used a lotion, the smell was still okay btu when i tried it i got rashes all over... my neck and shoulders were red and itchy.

my experience is really the best way of knowing if its okay or not... you can try it and wait and see for something to happen
Definitely. The oils can get rancid and the emulsifiers can get clumpy. Smell the product...if if smells sour or spoiled don't use it. Pour some into your hand...if it is getting clumpy or curdled looking don't use it.
yes they can ,if there over a year old throw them out.

Vitiligo (IPA /藢v瑟t蓹藞la瑟go/) or leukoderma is a chronic skin condition that causes loss of pigment, resulting in irregular pale patches of skin. The precise cause of vitiligo is complex and not fully understood. There is some evidence suggesting it is caused by a combination of auto-immune, genetic, and environmental factors. The population incidence in the United States is considered to be between 1% and 2%.[citation needed] It is considered a rare condition/rare disease that affects only 1 in 2,000 people.[citation needed]

    According to Diseases Database: ';A disorder consisting of areas of macular depigmentation, commonly on extensor aspects of extremities, on the face or neck, and in skin folds. Age of onset is often in young adulthood and the condition tends to progress gradually with lesions enlarging and extending until a quiescent state is reached.';

    [edit] Signs

Half of people with vitiligo develop patches of de-pigmented skin appearing on extremities before their 20s. The patches may grow, shrink, or remain constant in size. Patches often occur symmetrically across both sides on the body. Occasionally small areas may repigment as they are recolonised by melanocytes. The location of vitiligo affected skin changes over time, with some patches re-pigmenting and others becoming affected.

In some cases, mild trauma to an area of skin seems to cause new patches - for example around the ankles (caused by friction with shoes or sneakers). Vitiligo may also be caused by stress that affects the immune system, leading the body to react and start eliminating skin pigment.

Vitiligo on the scalp may affect the color of the hair (though not always), leaving white patches or streaks. It will similarly affect facial and body hair.

    [edit] Disease mechanism

Vitiligo is associated with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, commonly thyroid overexpression and underexpression. Jin in the New England Journal of Medicine reported a study comparing 656 people with and without vitiligo in 114 families, which found several mutations (single-nucleotide polymorphisms) in the NALP1 gene.[1][2] The NALP1 gene, which is on chromosome 17 located at 17p13, is on a cascade that regulates inflammation and cell death, including myeloid and lymphoid cells, which are white cells that are part of the immune response. NALP1 is expressed at high levels in T cells and Langerhan's cells, white cells that are involved in skin autoimmunity.

Among the inflammatory products of NALP1 are caspase 1 and caspase 5, which activate the inflammatory cytokine interleukin-1尾. Interleukin-1尾 is expressed at high levels in patients with vitiligo. There are compounds which inhibit caspase and interleukin-1尾, and so might be useful drugs for vitiligo and associated autoimmune diseases.

Of the 656 people, 219 had vitiligo only, 70 had vitiligo with autoimmune thyroid disease, and 60 had vitiligo and other autoimmune diseases. Addison's disease (typically an autoimmune destruction of the adrenal glands) may cause vitiligo.

In one of the mutations, the amino acid leucine in the NALP1 protein was replaced by histidine (Leu155-%26gt;His). The original protein and sequence is highly conserved in evolution, and found in humans, chimpanzee, rhesus monkey, and bush baby, which means that it's an important protein and an alteration is likely to be harmful.

The following is the normal DNA and protein sequence in the NALP1 gene:

    TCA CTC CTC TAC CAA

    Ser Leu Leu Tyr Gln

    S L L Y Q

In some cases of vitiligo the first leucine is altered to histidine, by a Leu155鈫扝is mutation:

    TCA CAC CTC TAC CAA

    Ser His Leu Tyr Gln

    S H L Y Q

(Leucine is nonpolar and hydrophobic; histidine is positively charged and hydrophilic, so it is unlikely to serve the same function.[3] [4])

The normal sequence of the DNA code for NALP1 of TCACTCCTCTACCAA is replaced in some of these vitiligo families by the sequence TCACACCTCTACCAA,[5] which respectively code for the amino acid sequence of the normal NALP1 protein SLLYQ being replaced by SHLYQ.[6]

    [edit] Psychological effects

Vitiligo can have a significant effect on the psychological well being of the patient.[7] This is especially true for darker skinned patients as the contrast between pigmented and depigmented skin can be quite drastic.

In some cultures there is a stigma attached to having vitiligo. Those affected with the condition are sometimes thought to be evil or diseased and are sometimes shunned by others in the community. People with vitiligo may feel depressed because of this stigma or because their appearance has changed dramatically. Other people with vitiligo experience no negative psychological effects at all.

    [edit] Treatment

There are a number of ways to alter the appearance of vitiligo without addressing its underlying cause. In mild cases, vitiligo patches can be hidden with makeup or other cosmetic camouflage solutions. If the affected person is pale-skinned, the patches can be made less visible by avoiding sunlight and the sun tanning of unaffected skin. However, exposure to sunlight may also cause the melanocytes to regenerate to allow the pigmentation to come back to its original color.

The traditional treatment given by most dermatologists is corticosteroid cream.[8]

Phototherapy may also beneficial using exposure to long-wave ultraviolet (UVA) light from the sun or from UVA, together with Psoralen, called ';PUVA';, Or with UVB Narrowband lamps (without Psoralen), can help in many cases. Psoralen can be taken in a pill 1-2 hours before the exposure or as a Psoralen soaking of the area 1/2 hour before the exposure. Lately, PUVA is being more and more replaced with exposure UVB Narrowband light at a wavelength of 311-313 nanometers. This treatment does not involve Psoralen since the effect of the lamp is strong enough. The source for the UVB Narrowband UVB light can be special fluorecent lamps that treat large area in few minutes, or high power fiber-optic devices in a fraction of a second.

Studies have also shown that immunomodulator creams such as Protopic and Elidel also cause repigmentation in some cases, when used with UVB Narrowband treatments.[9][10]

Alternatively, some people with vitiligo opt for chemical depigmentation, which uses 20% monobenzylether of hydroquinone. This process is irreversible and generally ends up with complete or mostly complete depigmentation.

In late October of 2004, doctors successfully transplanted melanocytes to vitiligo affected areas, effectively repigmenting the region. The procedure involved taking a thin layer of pigmented skin from the patient's gluteal region. Melanocytes were then separated out and used to make a cellular suspension. The area to be treated was then ablated with a medical laser, and the melanocyte graft applied. Three weeks later, the area was exposed to UV light repeatedly for two months. Between 73 and 84 percent of patients experienced nearly complete repigmentation of their skin. The longevity of the repigmentation differed from person to person.[11]

OK personally if you just want to hide it there are numerous makeups available in multiple skin tones. Scope out a women's section in a quality store and show them the problem and ask for a cure. They will be more than happy to help you and very understanding. I would try Macy's or Merle Norman to start with. Also TV ads for covering age spots etc.

Does using alot of lotion make your hands and body wrinklely and age faster?

it won't make you age faster but it will get your hands wrinkly

need more help? go to chilliegrl123@yahoo.comDoes using alot of lotion make your hands and body wrinklely and age faster?
No, it actually makes your skin look younger by expanding the elastic ability in your skin. Dry skin, this will make you look older.Does using alot of lotion make your hands and body wrinklely and age faster?
No. Not getting enough water, eating bad food, sun damage, smoking and inhaling or ingesting other environmental toxins make you wrinkle and age faster.

Lotion, if it has SPF in it would help you look younger longer, not the other way around. Other than that, lotion wouldn't have any long term effects good or bad.

Do i rub tan lotion on the top of my hands?

I bought jergens tanning lotion and my arms look tan(well yellow) but my hands are still pale... so should i rub lotion on them too?Do i rub tan lotion on the top of my hands?
i've used this product too and i love it. if it doesn't look too great, start with a lighter color. you can also exfoiate it off with a washcloth and body scrub.

if you like the color use a little bit on your hands, but be careful because the lines and wrinkles in your hands absorb much more than smooth skin. avoid your knuckles and cuticles.Do i rub tan lotion on the top of my hands?

I have a problem with palmar eczema in the winter months and this is the only thing that has helped. In fact, for the past two winters, I have had minimal break outs.

If your hands are really dry and cracked, get you some petroleum jelly (Vaseline makes a 'cream' Vaseline petroleum jelly) and put it on at bedtime with a pair of gloves. If you don't want to sleep in the gloves, put the Vaseline on with the gloves and somehow warm your hands. (I call this the poor mans hot wax treatment) It really works great.

    Good luck with those hands.
I work in health care and wash my hands more times than I could count. My hands were always bleeding in my gloves and a local farm girl told me to buy Udderly Smooth cow udder cream, sounds weird but it works absolute wonders. I didn't think the human lotion by that brand worked as well, but the stuff for cows did the trick. Can be picked up at most farm supply stores.
try avon or bath %26amp; body works.

    hope this helps :]

Are ';dry'; hand wash lotions better than soap + water?

You know those ones that don't need water and they rub dry.Are ';dry'; hand wash lotions better than soap + water?
i've heard that hadn sanitizer is bad for you if you use it to much. it kill bad bacteria but it also kills the good bacteria that keep you immune to things. So actually using hand sanitizer all the time will make you get sick.

water and soap is better for you anyway. Are ';dry'; hand wash lotions better than soap + water?
i personally think soap and water are better then hand sanitizer (dry hand wash) but the dry hand wash is faster and saves more money .but soap and water is well cost more

Can the use of hand creams and body lotions influence your cholesterol count?

If you eat a lot of hand cream, I'm sure your cholesterol would go up, so yes.Can the use of hand creams and body lotions influence your cholesterol count?
NO. The oils in these lotions are not absorbed deeper than a very few layers of skin. That's why it's pointless spending loads of money on them. The cheapest are as good as the most expensive. Can the use of hand creams and body lotions influence your cholesterol count?
    Never heard of that.
You are putting it on your hands and body right? It should not have an influence on your cholesterol at that level.

Hand cream tastes horrible if you get some in your mouth by accident, so I would rule this out as a way to be concerned with!
Not if you use them externally.

The hand creams and body lotions are absorbed by the skin to nourish the skin and do not penetrate further into the skin.
lol ! I don't think so.....if you want to lower your cholestrol ';...start your day with oat bran porridge. Studies have shown that just 2-3oz a day can lower cholesterol levels by up to 10%. I make mine with water and have it every day';.

Also, this site is wonderful for advice about diet, supplements, alternative, natural remedies etc %26amp; if you type in any condition/related words in search it'll show you a list of results(not all are relevant so pick the ones you think are relevant!)
No conceivable effect. Though some drugs may be absorbed through the skin, nutrients are not.
    No.
try the low fat varieties of hand and body lotions, much better for you.

I am trying to find a lotion to use during the day on my hands that are starting to get eczema.?

I have severe eczema on my feet which now is leading to my hands. I am looking for an over the counter lotion to use during the day while at work. Any suggestions?I am trying to find a lotion to use during the day on my hands that are starting to get eczema.?
Try Champori Cream from http://www.champori.com/eczema-relief.as鈥?/a>I am trying to find a lotion to use during the day on my hands that are starting to get eczema.?
My absolute favorite lotion is Quench by Oil of Olay. I have very dry skin (not eczema, but it's really dry), and this is THE BEST stuff ever!
i use to have that and i used lanicane from walmart.
USE ANTIE -ICHE CRREAM WITH VITAMINS TO HELP IT GO AWAY
    idk
I would use eucerin cream on it. It has a little bit of an oily feel to it but it goes away after a moment or two and heals your skin from the inside out. Use it at night too to wake up with soft, supple skin! (I do it everynight on my hands and elbows!) Good luck, I know how annoying eczema is! :(
Palmer's cocoa butter formula worked for me.... you are so lucky to only have it on your feet and hands i have eczema covering my body.... good luck hope you find something that works for you
I don't know When we use during for in ago since?
My son had severe atopic dermatitis as a baby, it's much better now but he still gets itchy on his hands. Aveeno makes a Calamine %26amp; Pramoxine HCI Anti Itch Cream. It works AWESOME. It instantly relieves his itch and gets rid of the red. My son loves it. He lets me rub and massage it into his hands with no fight. And it doesn't smell like other cortizone creams. Aveeno is the best.

Good lotion for moms that wash their hands a lot?

My little dumpling has a stomach virus and I'm washing my hands a lot as I'm cleaning up his vomit and changing his diapers constantly. My hands are starting to get dry and my palms are starting to crack and peel. I tried baby lotion, cocoa butter lotion, and Jergens but my hands are still dry after i wash them and I'm having to reapply. Does anyone have any recommendations for a lotion that will actually help to bring some moisture back to my hands that won't wash right off?Good lotion for moms that wash their hands a lot?
Nivea, the kind in the tub it is thick and luxurious. I wait until nap time and plop it on then enjoy. Keep your head up ur dumpling will playing again in no time.Good lotion for moms that wash their hands a lot?
Yes - I don't know if they still have it or not, but I used to use Vaseline Intensive Care's Water Resistant Lotion. I used to work in fast food, and often had my hands in water from washing tables and dishes - my hands get dry in winter, but were even worse from the water. Someone suggested that lotion to me, so I tried it, and loved it! You can still feel it after you have your hands in water, no need to keep reapplying it like regular lotion.
You've received a lot of good suggestions, but I'll put my two-cents worth in anyway.

As a daycare provider, I wash my hands more per day than the average person or the average mother. I also live in Minnesota, so winters are extremely hard on my hands and they used to crack no matter what lotion I tried. (And I would try anything anybody suggested.)

What works best for me is Gold Bond Ultimate with Shea Butter. I love it and if I remember to put it on daily, my hands don't crack.

I also had a friend of mine just give me a bottle of lotion that she special orders from Walgreens. It's called Atrac-Tain Cream. The supposed secret ingredient in it is Urea. I haven't used it too long, but my hands haven't cracked using this cream either.

    Hope this helps.
I don't know if there is any lotion out there that won't wash off, but the absolutely best lotion (and I've tried many) to bring instant relief to dry, cracked hands is Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion. I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old, and am constantly washing my hands, this really worked for me and seems to last a while.
its a bit sticky and messy, but you can try putting on petroleum jelly at night before bed. then using lubriderm (extra dry skin formula) during the day.
find some ';corn huskers lotion'; i know dairy farmers that live by this. it comes in a little yellow labeled bottle. probably able to find it at a co op near ur town.
I use Lubriderm. I started using it for my tattoos. I had never used it before because it's so expensive. But now I wont use anything else! :D
try going into body shop they are really helpful!

or you could try boots they have lots of dry hand cream

i would recommend norwegian formula hand cream.

    xx
    grapeseed oil
Lubriderm works good...but the best thing out rite now is aquaphor or eucerin!!!

Get someone else to do it for Pete's sake!!!
i put it on the back of my hands its a lot easier.
It is an age old problem and the beginning of flirting at the poolside - rub some lotion on my back please?

I find the same when using fake tan - I''ve swtiched to the stuff in the spray can - that way you can reach your own back.

Unless your lotion comes in a spray can, I suggest asking someone to rub it in for you. If you haven't got anyone, might be a good way to meet someone.....
Yes it can be done but instead of using your palms to rub in the lotion you will have to use the back of your hands in certain parts.
To reach your back for lotions and creams and stuff the best way to do it....... is to get a mate to do it! No strains! No mess to your hands!
place one of those free gloves that you get at petrol stations on your long handled back brush, put lotion on glove then use this as an extension of your arm
buy one of those sponges on a stick! Usually used for cleaning said back but maybe useful in this case!!

in order to get color on your hands though, use your right hand and strategically place lotion on your left.. then wash the right and to the same to the right hand. this way you will avoid blotching or stains and will still get the glow.
ive used it before and if you wash your hands in warm water and soap it doesnt. to make sure my hands were the same colour as the rest of me, after i washed my hands i put like two drops of the lotion on my palm and rubbed it in very well

Where does lotion go after it is rubbed into your hands?

I have always wondered how your body gets rid of lotion after you rub it into your hands. It has to go somewhere. does anyone know?Where does lotion go after it is rubbed into your hands?
you have an outer layer of skin and an under layer of skin. when you put on lotion it goes into the inner layer first and then the remainder of it goes onto the outer layer. that's why sometimes if you have put on too much your skin can't absorb it all and you have to gently wipe off the extra lotion.Where does lotion go after it is rubbed into your hands?
Wow. Good question. I never thought about that before.

The top layer of your skin is called the epidermis and it's nothing but dead skin cells getting ready to slough off. This is what absorbs the lotion, simply hydrating the dead cells.

Some lotions are said to go into the pores. Don't worry it can't be absorbed into the lower layers of skin and can't get into the bloodstream.

There is a class of drugs that can be absorbed into your bloodstream using a special chemical called a DMSO.

Thanks for the question. Sometimes it's good to make me think.
It gets absorbed into your skin. But with Sunscreens it is important not to rub too much because you might end up rubbing it off and then you will not get the full SPF protection.

    Are there cooling hand lotions?

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a hand lotion that keep your hands really cold, or is endothermic? Thanks! Are there cooling hand lotions?
You could try a lotion or gel that has peppermint in it. That generally has a lasting cooling effect. I have a peppermint leg and foot gel that works wonders at cooling. Are there cooling hand lotions?
You can use everything that's making moisture evaporate from your hands; the most basic thing will be glycerine. It should be available at every drugstore.

What is the BEST non-perfumed lotion for dry, cracked skin (hands)?

I work in an office %26amp; deal with a lot of different types of paper. I believe this is why my skin dries out so much %26amp; so badly. there is an emoilent from mary kay that works really well. my son has dry skin and he uses cornhuskers on his hands..my mother inlaw swears by eucerin its not scented. try not using anti bacterial soaps and santizers this will dry out your skin quickly and after washing your hands pat them dry dont rub .. it takes away your natural body oils, you pmay even want to try a product that you put on at nite ..like a mask for your hands i think avon has a product. good luckWhat is the BEST non-perfumed lotion for dry, cracked skin (hands)?
    Lubriderm. It's over-the-counter.
    Hi,

I know how painful that can be. The best product for you is Surgeon's skin secret. They sell it on QVC and it is amazing! It makes a protective barrier for your skin so it will be able to heal. I used it every day when I worked in the hospital because you are constantly washing your hands. Good luck.
    I love Aveeno!
Try Sally Hansen 18 hour protective cream..or something like Jurlique organic
OH' Honey My mom had that and she tried EVERYTHING. I ordered this stuff (it sounds funny but check it out):

CRAZY GOAT LADY'S GARDEN SALVE by www.SANDYCREEKSOAP.etsy.com

It cleared it up in like a WEEK. She LOVES it! She lives in the country so her hands are always dry. Hope this helped.. PS it's organic %26amp; CHEAP.
lubradrem perfume %26amp; scent free lotion. It is also great for after care when you get a new tattoo.
I use Johnson %26amp; Johnson baby lotion alot

Cedaphil and Luberdrum are also really good and actually dr recommended

What is a good lotion for chapped hands ?

PALMERS!What is a good lotion for chapped hands ?
Don't laugh, this is serious. Go to a farm supply store and ask for bag balm. Its stated purpose is for use on cow udders to prevent drying and chapping in cold weather, but farmers have sworn by it for ages for their own use.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bag_BalmWhat is a good lotion for chapped hands ?
Neutrogena Hand Lotion - tube looks small but it only takes a small amount and it goes a long way , comes mildly scented or unscented
curtisports2 is right, or working hands.

Iv'e noticed that skin color has alot to do with the lotion you should use. Im white, and my friend is black, and some lotions don't work on her dry skin. So we both tried working hands and our hands feel like baby butts!

She stared using bag balm on her face and, its perfectly soft. I shall try too!
My hands get horribly chapped in the winter and I tried a great variety of lotions to find that Eucerin is the only thing that works for me. It may be a bit expensive but it works very well and lasts a long time. I've also found that the more I use those frangrant lotions from Bath %26amp; Body Works for example, the worse my hands will get. If these tips don't help you should go see your doctor and ask what to use. I really hate having chapped hands so I wish you the best of luck through these cold months ahead. Thank you.
    AVEENO!!!! it works!!!!!

    hope it hellpss!!!!!!!!!! =]]]
Evelyn and Crabtree (sp?) It's really good! They have them in the hilton hotel so you know it's good it's a 5 star hotel! It's really good but kidn pricey but sometimes they have sales so you have 2 lotion for $20 and the lotions are big and you don't need a lot. A little dab and your good to go.
    aveeno.
Keri has a lotion just for that.
Lubriderm works really well and is inespensive. You get a giant bottle at wal-mart or target for like $5/$6. Get the one with sea kelp extract. It works by training your skin to take in moisture form the outside and adds moisture to your skin so its a long-term effect and it works!
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. It is very thick kind of like vaseline. It will heal your chapped hands immediately and keep them moist (without being oily) for a looooong time. They are also very neutral without alot of chemicals so it works well for sensitive hands too. Like if your hands are cracked, applying the cream won't sting. It's affordable and you can get it at any drug store.
eucerin or vasaline . eucerin helps heal with moisture that fills cracks( unseen to naked eye) and helps roughness.

Vasaline provides a water tight barrier. Good for lite application on lips, heels( be careful not to put on feet- it can cause you to slip) over cuts or lite burns.

Think diaper rash and what it does for babies bottoms

However, it is best used sparingly and infrequently. Only to spot treat and not for every day or prolonged use
I like the Vaseline Intensive care.. there's also a really great product called Rex eme, their website is rexeme.com. I have eczema and use it for that, but it works for anything to do with dry skin. They have really small jars if you want to try it out.

    Good luck!

I have extremely dry hands and I need a lotion or ideas on how to keep them from cracking especially around?

the cuticle. It gets really painful and with winter coming on it will only get worse. I use lotion many times a day and I even found a hand sanitizer that has aloe and vitamen E in it. drink lots of water (keep moisture inside)

utter cream....don't laugh it's for cows utters and they get very dried out and crack....you can get it at a feed and seed center.

also try something like vitamin E cream.

apply generously to hands at night and put on some latex gloves.

    sleep like that.

in the colder weather don't go out without gloves on

taking vitamin E wouldn't be a bad idea eitherI have extremely dry hands and I need a lotion or ideas on how to keep them from cracking especially around?
me too.. i suffer dat kind of probs bfore..but my fren told me to use petroleum jelly at night n pputting on some cottn gloves pon it.. yep and it6 realy works.. jz aplly as mant tyms u want it
Using petrelium jelly with glove at night works but leaves your skin very oily. You can a buy a really good lotion call cocoa butter cream. You can find it at any pharmacy around and its cheap. Is the same lotion pregnant women used to reduce strechmarks. If really good. I used to have really rough hands and now everyne that touches my hands says: Oh your so soft!!
Get your self some hemp hand protector and moisturising gloves from the body shop, I promise you this is the best stuff for severly dry, cracked hands.
i have the same problem. i use a cream from the vets (no joke) that farmers use to moisterise cows udders. works everytime
Coat your hands in a lot of vaseline each night at bed time. Put clean socks over your hands.

Do this regularly - 3-4 nights per week.

    It really helps.
U drink gingelly oil and egg once in a day. Then apply the morning dew which will b on the top of grass and leaves.
At night coat your hands with vaseline an so you dont make a mess all over the place stick your hands into a pair of your clean socks and let it go to work all night long.

Another thing that works even tho it sounds really cazy is

you take the wax from one of those candles that are made out of soybeans, the candles that are smokeless and melt some of the wax then rub the wax onto your hands. you will find that it leaves your hands feeling silky soft.
Hand sanitizer is just gelled alcohol, it's gonna dry out your skin badly especially if you use it on a regular basis.

Arbonne Intelligence makes a hand cream that is amazing and can be purchased for just $6!! My mom is an accountant and uses her hands all day shuffling papers and on the computer. She keeps a tube of it on her desk all the time!

Yes, you are using an older hand cream. The SPF was removed from the product quite some time ago. Recently, the product packaging changed to the peach color you saw on the website. It is still the same on the inside though. The Satin Hands line no longer consists of 4 steps, it is now 3.Just wondering, do the Mary Kay travel size satin hands lotion have spf protection?
I think you might be using an older version of the hand cream. I don't think the newer ones now come with SPF, but I'm really not positive. You might want to ask your consultant.

  • Why are laureth sulfates used in making shampoo, soap and hand lotions?

I am allergic to sulfa of ANY kind! As a consumer I have to stand there and read the ingredients on all of my bathing products.

So far I have only found 1 name brand that does Not use Sulfa and that is J.A.S.O.N.

do any of you know of any more brands that do not contain Laural sulfates? Why are laureth sulfates used in making shampoo, soap and hand lotions?
I use sulfate free shampoos and conditioners as well, because it's better for color treated hair.

    purology...sulfate free
Is one of the side effects repetition?
I, too, am looking for sls free products. At Whole Foods Market, they carry Burt's Bee's shampoo bars that use vegetable oil as soap instead of sls. There is also a line of shampoos and conditioners called Aubrey that are sls free. There actually are quite a few sls free shampoos at Whole Foods Market, some quite inexpensive.

SLS is used in shampoos as a lathering agent, but many feel that it is simply too drying for a person's hair, especially African American hair. The stuff is used in engine degreasers and dish-washing liquid! Whether a person's hair and scalp needs such a heavy duty cleaning agent is debatable. Some may need it, but if your hair is dry, like mine, it may be best to find other alternatives.

Out of nowhere my hands got really dry. Lotion doesn't work too well. How can I get my hands to be soft again?

    Hi,

well it's winter here, dunno about where you are, but the cold definitely dries out the skin, especially on the hands.

one terribly messy thing to try is vaseline and rubber gloves while you sleep, some people swear by it. never tried it myself, but have rubbed it on hands - leaves nasty residue that ends up needing to be washed off because it's just insidious.

there are all sorts of good moisturizers: lubriderm, cetaphil, vaseline intensive care moisturizer, jergens, etc...

there's also vitamin e oil, but that's pretty insidious as well.

Udderly Smooth is great, and cheap, sometimes hard to find, but they have it at wal-mart, pharmacies, some supermarkets.

just carry lotion with you, and apply OFTEN

    1. Wear gloves

    OR

    2. Coat your hands with vasaline ( baby oil or a thick cream of some kind )

Then apply your tanner, as soon as you are finished wash your hands with soap, pat dry, and apply lotion focusing on the wrist area which will blend in lotion to hand so you don't have a line there.

FYI: If you have sensitive skin it is foolish to be using these products, they contain harsh chemicals .....How can you avoid the palms of your hands looking funny when you use a self-tanning lotion?
The way I put on the self tanning lotion is you get your self a cotton glove or thing clean sock and you put it on that way and then when it comes to doing your hands use a cotton ball or soft tissue.

Also to remove the stains from your finger nails or hands use windex

    I hope this can help

Dont buy in to how the media says you need to look. Alabaster skin is beautiful, and you probably are too. People call me pasty and pale because they're shallow and easily influenced.
wear cloth or plastic gloves when applyin de self tannin lotion
Use the self tanning stuff that builds up over few days it works really well, you dont get streaks either and it has a more natural colour than the normal orange fake tan e.g. johnsons holiday skin and dove healthy glow
Stop using it. Don't be fake, it shows.

I would just be trying to get it looking more natural on my hands that's all.Things to use to help remove fake tanning lotion from hands, palms, and between fingers.?
Nail polish remover. Works on permanent marker, too.Things to use to help remove fake tanning lotion from hands, palms, and between fingers.?
Always, always wash your hands afterwards! You'll wash most, but not all of it, off and it will leave enough to look more subtle and not dark or orange. Put regular lotion on your hands several times a day, too, and put some lotion on your elbows and knees and heels before using the tanning lotion. Good luck!
Hair bleach if it is bad, also rub with a pumice stone in the cracks, it helps.
u should always use gloves when puttin that one to avoid this!

not sure what works! although I did go swimmin a day after I did the fake tannin lotion, and my tan was gone after I went swimmin...lol...not sure why but I am guessing the chemicals in the poool....lol....so u could always stick ur hands in a pool
Rubbing alcohol! I've always had sucess with it.

Why are laureth sulfates used in making shampoo, soap and hand lotions?

I am allergic to sulfa of ANY kind! As a consumer I have to stand there and read the ingredients on all of my bathing products.

I have to spend 75% more on the products that DON'T use it in the products.

So far I have only found 1 name brand that does Not use Sulfa and that is J.A.S.O.N.

do any of you know of any more brands that do not contain Laural sulfates? Why are laureth sulfates used in making shampoo, soap and hand lotions?

  • How do I cure really dry hands besides using lotion?

    I use two diffferent products.

    1) Neosporin is an antibacterial ointment that works great to heal chapped lips, hands, etc. This is my favorite way to heal my skin whether chapped, dry, or cracking. It works fast and I sometimes use it preventitively. On occasion I place some on the post of my pierced earings as 'think' it may do some good. Notice I said think. Wal-Mart carries a generic brand with exact same medicinal ingredients.

    2) You say no lotions but read on: Corn Huskers Lotion is VERY good. It is oil free and can be found in a strore such as Rite-Aid or Sav-On. Maybe Walgreens or Wal-Mart will carry it also. I had to ask for help to find the bottle (plastic shape like an old medicine bottle) because the bottle is so plain I could not find it. It has yellow cap/ green letters.... about 7 inches in height. Not greasy and it leaves zero residue. This was recommended to me by my physician.

BOTH of these products are my favorites.

You may also sleep at night with the neosporin on hands covered by gloves.- 99cent store cloth garden gloves work fine. I believe you will find improvement after the first night doing this.

Drink lots of water daily and take Omega 3 capsules. Spk with somone about the Omega 3s at the nutrition store.

Use latex rubber surgical type gloves when doing any work with the hands that can be irritating. I use them always for gardening, cleaning, and washing dihes.

I see someone mentioned udder cream. I worked in urology for many years and docs recommended this to patients with urinary incontinence (leaky bladder causing chapped irritated skin) and I have heard patients say it worked ok.How do I cure really dry hands besides using lotion?
try parrafin wax treatments, that oughta do it. good luck!!How do I cure really dry hands besides using lotion?
Give the hands a dip in Magnesium Sulfate solution for fifteen to twenty minutes every day.. Check your soles also for the same trend. This treatment is good for removing dead cells from the surface and also purifies the blood of toxins. If you notice general dryness of the skin, then having bath with this water helps tone up general skin condition also.Eat inexpensive , but good quality oil nuts like pea nuts roasted or pistachio occasionally to supply surfaces with natural oil.If the condition of dryness persists for long, there may be digestion disorders. Get it investigated
lotion wont cure really dry hands...you need to get hand cream..its the thickest stuff ever, but it has always cured my dry hands...neutrogena makes a hand cream and avon..if you know anyone who sells.
try some petroleaum jelly every night. Just a little otherwise it gets greasy. Also avoid washing dishes with hands, no matter what those bottles say, these detergents always wreck havok on hands. If you have no other option, after washing the dishes, wash your hands, try using a soap with vit e and then rub a bit of petroleum jelly after drying your hands. You can aslo purchase a sally hansen 'manicure in a minute' and use it every night until the time your hands become soft.
Try not to wash your hands too much, instead, go to Walmart and buy some Germ-X hand sanitizer, which has a moisturizer in it as well.
You could try taking Vitamin E.

Try to find out why they are so dry and then you can address the problem directly. Mine were really dry for a while and it turned out to be a medication I was taking. Also, some thyroid conditions can cause dryness. Best Wishes!
    drink more water
Udder Cream . Or you can ask your dock for the cream that is used on burn victims. L
