get some perfume free cream at bath and body that has the shea buter in it, and also, drink more water.. and I hate to say it, but wash your hands with warm water at night for a minute or two, dry them and immediately put vaseline on them. you can also get those cotton gloves and put them on afterwards and sleep with them, it really helps. and it doesn't get cheaper than vaseline. What is a good lotion for dry hands?
St.Ives or steves or cumtin or exact!
I have a problem with dry skin also and I was told that any lotion is better than none.
So, my advice is to buy whatever you like as long as you are not allergic to it. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything with Shea Butter as I think it smells too rich and overpowering.
Some suggestions from Bath and Body Works would be:

Or if you're looking for something a bit more natural try something made from beeswax with essential oils in it.
Vaseline hand repair cream. Very nourishing and not greasy. only couple of dollars a tube and a little goes a long way. Silicone glove from AVON godd, a little greasier and not as readily available (can run down to wall mart and get AVON) but in expensive also. Have not tried anything from B%26amp;B for hands but their foot care line is great----hands probably are too.
Dry skin needs plenty of oil and moisture. Use aloe vera gel after bathing. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/
