There is a product called ';Bag Balm'; which was originally intended for use on cow's udders. What the milkmaids discovered was that it works wonders on their hands as well. It contains lanolin, which is very helpful and soothing for sensitive skin.K well i have really dry hands and i want to know how to get rid of it without using lotion???HELP!!!!!lol?
beauticontrol sells alot of good products for that including this stuff called show of hands. its amazing! all you have to do is wash your hands with it once every so often and the more that you use it the softer they get!
whats so bad about lotion??? if you used it everyday, your hands wouldnt be so sensitive. you'll get used to it, it probly just stings becuase your hands are cracked. There is nothing else to do, you have to use lotion.
I have a cousin who has ashy hands{ around his Knuckles} elbows and knee caps. My aunt buys him Johnson and Johnson oil baby lotion. It is the baby oil mixed with a little BBB lotion. Not only does it help him but drinking about 6 glasses of water a day help improve the ash that seems like it don't want to go away. Good Luck
try crisco if lotion bothers you.
Cover your hands with vaseline before you go to bed and sleep with cotton gloves on. It works great.
vaseline, lanolin, conditioner, crisco,
Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. moisturizing also comes from inside the body and they have non allergenic lotions. maybe your Dr. can prescribe something for you
Your hands need exfoliating. The best way to do this naturally is with olive oil and brown sugar. The oil replenishes whilst the brown sugar scrubs. It works very well, but then you will need to put on a barrier cream of some sort that suits your hands to protect them.
Put vasaline on your hands and put gloves on or socks on your hands while you sleep for a few nights. Even a little olive oil works.

try using sand with vinagre. if that doesn't work try a lemon mixed with the powder u use to clean the sink.
if not get someof the paste used for cleaning hands for mechanichs(at supermarkets in the car section)
good luck..I put sunless tanning lotion on and forgot to wash it off my hands.how can i get it off my hands? i am orange!
Exfoliate your hands or use rubbing alcohol.
Next time before you put on sunless tanner exfoliate with used coffee grounds. It makes the tanner go on perfectly.
You know them rock thingys people use on their feet. Sorry i don't remember what the are called but I will use them on my hands too. Don't use it as hard on your hands as you do on your feet though. I love using it on my hands be/c my hands are usually in water alot so it makes them peel.

My hand's get really chapped in the Winter, to the point were it hurts to wash them. Any good lotions to help
At night, put vaseline on them and then a pair of white socks. When he wakes up they will feel and look great! My hand's get really chapped in the Winter, to the point were it hurts to wash them. Any good lotions to help
My hubby has really dry skin and because he works in construction, the winter weather plays havoc with his skin and hands.
Taking care of your hands is going to be a fulltime job. Use Eucerin cream on your hands at night and cover them with clean white socks while you sleep. (you will get use to it). When you go outside wear gloves, so they are not exposed to the cold and wind.
Most lotions have alcohol in them, I don't think Eucerin Cream does and it is really thick. My hand's get really chapped in the Winter, to the point were it hurts to wash them. Any good lotions to help
i dont know the answer to this question, but look at the question you asked before this, because that is a bad answer you chose for best, you must think that women are better than men because you have periods, well, no one is better than anyone so i hope your proud of yourself because you have just become a chauvinistic pig. chauvinistic can go both ways when it comes to gender; Prejudiced belief in the superiority of one's own gender, group, or kind. way to go.
The best treatment for chapped and dry hands during the winter is vaseline! (it's really inexpensive and works like a charm)
I use Avon Skin so Soft gelled body oil. Use it before you go to bed at night. I love it and it isn't expensive at all.

Yes as a matter of fact. I used to go through that same thing but I finally found a lotion, well someone let me use some, that worked really well and I've been using it since. Try the olay body quench body lotion. it comes in scented or unscented. for now with your hands that chapped, i'd use the unscented. This stuff works GREAT. Normally lotion you have to apply a few times a day but this stuff you only need to use once a day once your hands are healed. put on the lotion and wear gloves as long as you can to keep them protected. good luck!
try a body butter they are awesome you can get them at bath and body works and also ask for the shea butter lotion... THAT i swear to god you will fall in love with it! its literally like absorbing silk into your hands.. at the VERY least go there and try the tester
go to the pharmacy and get a medicated moisturisers.
they are good for very dry skin.
keri lotion. make sure you reapply constantly. wear a lot of it when you go to sleep.
moisturise and then apply a barrier cream, you can buy them from most beauty stores or Hemp cream is brilliant you can get it from body shop thats the only place that sells it hope it helps
ask ur bf to ';whip'; up a batch and rub it on ur hands. real good for them %26amp; has lots of protine.korres

What is the best lotion for extremely dry hands?
I work in a restaurant as the dishwasher and my boss is old school so he bleaches EVERYTHING so im pretty much elbow deep in bleach for 5 hours every night. The other day i realized that the bleach is stripping all of the natural oils and moisture in my hands so they have stared to flake and sometimes peel. Im constantly drowning my hands with lotion every 20 - 30 mins but the stuff i use doesnt seam to do a good enough job.
Any body know a good and fragrant moisturizer on the market that is also relatively cheap and ca be bought in a Walgreens, walmart..ect?What is the best lotion for extremely dry hands?
Well using one with fragrance is only going to add to the problem because along with fragrance, comes skin drying alcohol. You should try the Aveeno Hand Cream or get some Udderly Smooth to use at night before you go to sleep. What is the best lotion for extremely dry hands?
I have super dry hands too. If i dont baby them, they can get to the point of cracking and bleeding. Especially in the winter.
I dont know about WalMart or Walgreens, but the best stuff I ever used is from the Body Shop and it is Hemp Lotion.
It's one of their best sellers and it works really well. It might be a little expensive, but i've had the tube for a really long time. I usually put it on when I go to bed and in the morning everything has healed right up. My husband uses it to for his dry knuckles and it also works really well for him.
Your boss should provide a commercial grade gloves for you. You probably need some heavy duty moisture locking barrier from the bleach getting into your skin. Moisturizer plus a barrier. Any lanolin based ones are good barriers, and the moisturizer ? get a store brand Cetaphil, Target %26amp; Walmarts have them, right beside the name brand Cetaphil.
This is available online and it's better than any lotion I ever used. It's call ';Bee Bar'; and it's a cake of lanonlin, beeswax, etc and it's scented like vanilla. You rub it on your hands and it's the best for dry skin. I work in the medical field so I am always washing my hands and using hand sanitizer which makes my skin crack in the wintertime. Get a Bee Bar and you won't want to be without one ever again.
Can you wear long kitchen gloves? That may help. I got some Goldbond Ultimate Softening lotion (with Shea butter so it smells good) at the drug store and I really like it. They also had Goldbond Ultimate Healing lotion. It's inexpensive and does a great job.
I use Aveeno. I have skin issues and this is the only one that really works for me.
You can also try Eucerin, which is thicker and a little more greasy.
Best thing I found when I was a waitress was pure lanolin. Is usually pretty darn cheap and can be found at most mom and pop corner drugstores or online at the link below.
Vaseline, just until you get enough moisture in them to then treat with lotions.
Neutrogena hand cream works wonder.

What is the best lotion/cream for dry hands?
My fingers have been cracking so much in the past few months..Its getting so bad the skin breaks and it bleeds and I can't even put my hands under water too long because it burns... I went to the doctor but they are so stupid because nothing they gave me worked..They said it would go away but it isn't. I dont know what to do..
I think I had poison Ivy in May and thats when it started and never went away..They little white bubbles still come back sometimes..its so painful :(..I only have it on my fingers..nowhere else :((((What is the best lotion/cream for dry hands?
Nivea. It keeps your skin moisturized, but not greasy/oily. I use it in the winter when my knuckles get dry from the cold air. This stuff is definitely quality...What is the best lotion/cream for dry hands?
I would say just use Vaseline to really seal the moisture out from you hands. Or put a bit of olive oil in with your hand cream, to really make it moisturizing. But bubbling and burning under water sounds like you have burned skin. I don't know what that could be, but it sounds more serious than just using lotion. Maybe try another doctor?
I can recommend Udderly Smooth hand cream, you will have to order online or search for a stockist near you. This cream was originally developed for diary cows who got sore cracked udders!!! But it now has a light scent and is packaged for humans!!! It is non greasy, easily absorbed and really does help. I have a tube I keep in my handbag and a large tub I keep at home. If you search for their website it has customer reviews on there too.
Try filtering the water, it will be more gentle on your skin. You could also try washing your hands with Sensitive Wet Ones or baby wipes.
my hands crack at the knuckles and bleed on their own. i use every time i wash my hands vaseline intensive care only a little bit just on dry bits.
Try using a salve ointment.. Apply then put gloves on.. It is best to do this right before bed.. The gloves keep all the moisture in and keep the salve off your sheets...

Suggestions on lotion for very dry hands? ?
I am the type of girl that hates lotion. I am a girly-girl, love make-up, etc., but never got into lotion. My hands are severely dry this winter and normally I don't mind but they hurt! I don't like the sticky, slimy feel of some lotions and I don't like having my ring spinning around my greased-up finger all day long! I just tried Earth Therapeutics Gardener's Hand Repair Protective Conditioner (like right this minute) and so far it seems ok, but looking for other opinions. Thanks!Suggestions on lotion for very dry hands? ?
Aveda Hand Relief. I wash my hand a million times a day and use alchol to clean them in treatments and this keeps my hands so soft.Suggestions on lotion for very dry hands? ?
I know how you feel, so well.
My hands were really dry and ugly.. And im a girl with a big G.. So i tried Clarin's Cr茅me Jeunesse des Mains, or Caresse mains from Lancome. Both of them do not stick to your hands, and leave them soft for so long.
Although the one from Lancome may stick a bit when you put in on, but after that it doesnt stick anymore. :)
Merry christmas! :)
I know how you feel because i hate creams to leave a greasy texture on my body! However, i've never had this problem with E45 cream which you can pick up in drugstores like Boots and Superdrug, but also your local supermarkets are sure to stock E45 cream too!
Try it out and let me know if you agree!
Anything with oatmeal. The aveeno one is good. Do not use one with any perfumes in it. I have one called touch of honey. It's really good. At night use an utter cream (available at most drugstores) and wear gloves for at least a half hour. You can wear them overnight too! Mary Kay has an awesome satin hands kits. But I find it too time consuming, however, I am a busy mom. Hope this helps!
try cocoa butter lotion. lotion works better if you put it on lightly right after you wash your hands(don't rub them dry completely pat them.) if there is still some moisture on your skin and you put lotion over it, then it will keep the moisture on your skin.
Drink more water and use olive oil in your cooking and on your salads. It gives you moist skin that's not oily. You should eat the same foods that fight wrinkles. They are the ones that give you moist skin too.
Try St. Ives. Its really good on dry skin and its not greasy or anything like that. Just what your looking for.. soothes the dryness on your skin and its not greasy.
Try Jonson and Jonson baby lotion and when you put some lotions on it looks like you are breaking out to it but your not
You can try any products with shea butter. It really helps for dry skin.
Try Eucerin Soothing Creme. It works very well. You could also try Aquaphor.
E45 cream, its for major dry skin. Its really good and drys very quickly

I'm trying tanning lotion but it stained my hands and now my hands r orange.?
how can i get rid of my orange hands by Christmas eve?I'm trying tanning lotion but it stained my hands and now my hands r orange.?
cut a lemon in half, rub it on your hands, and use either a pumice stone or loofah to scrub your hands.....
next time wash your hands IMMEDIATELY after applying tanning lotion...it says it right on the bottle!!!!I'm trying tanning lotion but it stained my hands and now my hands r orange.?
umm that happen to me put some cover up on your hands or go to a tanning salon and ask oh and next time try gloves lol good luck
Salt, sugar, or a commercial exfoliant-- anything abrasive will remove some of the color with dead skin. Between scrubs use the most moisturizing lotion/cream you have to soften your skin. It helps remove more of the dead skin. Good luck!
try salt on hands with a drop of water and scrub
next time u use that stuff wash u hands immediately after-wards!!
lemons! lemon juice removes it. It even removes permanent marker off of things.

My hands were dry so i put on lotion...?
i just put on lotion because my hands felt dry.
now my hands are turning alittle red and are stinging, is it because my hands are dry or could it be that i am alergic to the lotionMy hands were dry so i put on lotion...?
If they were just stinging, I'd say its because they were dry. But red too. Hmm. I don't know. You might be allergic. I'm allergic to some kinds of lotion but I usually get a rash with bumps when I use it. I'd try a different kind of lotion and see if it irritates your skin less.My hands were dry so i put on lotion...?
i would say you are allergic to your lotion. my hands do the same thing. i really have to watch what i buy. nothing with purfumes and dyes. i'd stay away from like bath and body stuff and those cheap scented lotions you get at dollar stores. i get stuff that is for sensitive skin and is hypoallergenic. you can also ask you doctor.
It's because your hands are so dry. That happens to me as well. It's just them healing up a bit after the soothing affects of the lotion. If your hands start swelling or you start having other adverse reactions then you could be allergic. I doubt that though.
It probably your hands are too dry and the lotion you might be using has alot of alchol in it. So that why your skin reacted to it. When buying lotion don't buy the ones that has alchol in it coz it would make you skin way drier!
if your skin is very dry the lotion has alcohol and fragrances in it that will make your skin turn red and sting vaseline works better but it feels ucky
Could be because your allergic to the lotion, try a different lotion and see what happens. If it happens again go and find out what is in the lotions that is making this happen to you. Good luck.
Your having an allergic reaction. But I suggest soaking your hands in warm soap water.
I believe you are allergic to your lotion.
Put baby oil on them instead.

I accidently ate some lotion that was on my hands. Does it have calories? it was cocoa butter (shea butter)?
I dont think it does, but if it did it wouldnt have enough to even matter.I accidently ate some lotion that was on my hands. Does it have calories? it was cocoa butter (shea butter)?
I know it tasted awfull and It certainly cant be good for you! I once ate a tube of berry flavored chap stick as a kid, after being incouraged to do so by my older sis. I swollowed it whole and went straight to the ER for poisoning when everybody saw a little eight year old kid busting through the doors with his frantic mother, all the other gun shot wounded, stabbed, and burned soon to be admitted patients made way for us to see a doc right away. But you should be okay your sh#* might be white though just kidding!!I accidently ate some lotion that was on my hands. Does it have calories? it was cocoa butter (shea butter)?

Lotion For Legs And Hands?
Ok. So I used to use Jergen's Minimizing Shaving Lotion, but they stopped selling it. I loved it! Is there anything else that works really good like that did?
Also, what is a good hand cream? Besides Aveeno. I'm not so sure I liked it. My mom suggests Lubriderm or Keri. Are those good lotions. What about St.Ives? Is that good? (The whipped or the other ones)
Thanks a million!Lotion For Legs And Hands?

For hands or dry skin in general. I use Jergens Ultra Healing extra dry skin moisturizer. It is AMAZING. I love it and use it every time I wash my hands and anytime I want really. Not very oily and leaves hands smooth and soft.

I don't believe there is any lotion that you don't have to put on every day, but there is one lotion that works wonders for me. It's called Nivea Body. Get the very dry, rough skin one. It comes in a blue squirt bottle. My skin on my hands are very dry and rough. Can u recommend a lotion that I don't have to put on every day?

gurl friend !
You can talk to your doctor, and he can prescribe something for that. Geri-Hydrolac 12 works well, but it requires a prescription. Probably anything with ammonium lactate 12% will work great.
If you're looking for something that's not a prescription, go to Bath and Body Works and get True Blue Spa's Island Hot Spot Warming Body Scrub. Someone at Bath and Body works may even be able to let you give it a try before you buy it. Cocoa butter or Shea butter works great for afterwards.
aveeno daily moisuriser. whenever there dry just throw some on, and it works instantly
vitamin E oil.

I am looking for ideas on how to overcome my OCD. I excessively use lotion on my hands and feet. Any Ideas?
I also wet my hands often. I wet my hands b4 and after I leave the bathroom. I wet them even when Im in the kitchen just getting something out of the refrigerator. I feel some sort of comfort when my hands are moist. My heart rate increases when lotion is not accessible to me. I put it on my feet at least 20 times b4 I go to sleep. I cant even count how many times I do it during an entire course of a day. I really need help. I was thinking of hypnosis.I am looking for ideas on how to overcome my OCD. I excessively use lotion on my hands and feet. Any Ideas?
There are a few things you could try. The first thing would be to see a Psychiatrist or a Psychologist. I would start with the Psychologist first because he or she will determine whether you need medication. You might just need some behavior modification.
If you do not want to see a doctor, you could try some behavior modification on your own. For two days, keep a small journal of how often you lotion your feet. Write down the times. Do the same thing for when you wet your hands. Next, pick one of the areas to work on first, either the lotion problem or hand wetting. Let's say you want to work on the lotion first. If you find that you are lotioning your feet 20 times before bed, then do it 19 times. You will feel anxious at first, but stick to the 19 times. When you are feeling ok with lotioning 19 times, cut it down to 18 times. Continue in this fashion. When you conquer the lotion obsession, do the same thing for the hand wetting.
You should also keep a journal of your thoughts. Write down what you think will happen if you do not lotion your feet. You are probably trapped in a negative thought pattern . . . ';if I don't lotion my feet . . . xxx will happen.'; You will see that most of your thoughts are irrational. Keeping a journal will give you insight into why you do what you do.
Finally, keep in mind that breaking yourself of these habits will not be easy. You WILL experience anxiety. You just have to bear the anxiety. It will get better.I am looking for ideas on how to overcome my OCD. I excessively use lotion on my hands and feet. Any Ideas?
I am a hypnotherapist and would be glad to help you with your problem. If you have been diagnosed with a medical problem or are receiving psychiatric care, I would need a referral from a licensed medical professional. I do hypnosis by phone, or personalize sessions that you can download or I could mail you the Cd's. Visit this to learn more www.lifechangeshypnosis.org
May also be linked to Bi-Polar disorder where I saw this same behavior in a former girlfriend who suffered from it.
It's a hard thing, and big props to you for having the clarity and courage to admit there is a problem. That really means there is hope before it goes so far it really becomes severely dangerous. Nothing to play with:
Your present welfare is at stake, and perhaps your actual life as well if Bi-Polar is present as well as OCD.
EDIT: As regards H.B.'s answer, I don't like to ';crosstalk';, but this too important to let be. I would ALWAYS see a psychologist before seeing a psychiatrist precisely because a psychologist does NOT prescribe drugs. See another, too, to get a second opinion about your case and diagnosis. Medication may prove necessary for any person -- but all too often these days it is the first course and proves to be the wrong one. My next-door neighbor at this moment had similar problems to the ones you describe and was given drug after drug one on top of another -- ';treatment'; which almost cost her life, and took years and enormous hardship to undo. She is not yet fully weaned off all the drugs which created torment as bad as her original illness could ever have become. I know or have known many like her, including my own mother whose welfare I had to fight full-time for during the last three years of her life. Her battle and unnecessary suffering was something I would not wish on anyone.
I'm not saying all medication is wrong. Far from it. But it is a sad fact that in the present psychiatric community and climate, particularly in the United States, much of what is diagnosed and prescribed IS wrong. Reasons for this range from incompetency, to greed, to plain nonchalance and even fear of malpractice suits if one steps out of the herd. There are fine psychiatrists, to be sure. But in my experience there are just as many or more bad ones. So get references from someone with PERSONAL experience with the practitioner you choose. It is a most important decision!
Regarding SSRIs - One of them (Zoloft) works well for me for my anxiety disorder, but it takes time to get up to a therapeutic dose. It's worth it though.
One problem is that you have strongly reinforced those pathways in your brain that deal with your OCD behaviors. You need to find a way to help yourself step away from that. If hypnosis does not work, then I would strongly recommend going to a psychiatrist to get help - from SSRI meds. It does not mean that you will be on them forever. Some people are, but many get weaned off of them after a year or so at therapeutic level.
is there really anything wrong with you putting lotion on your feet? does it prevent you from living semi normally? they told me that i have ocd cause i scratch myself but it doesn't prevent me from working and being mostly normal. if its really a problem there are medications and therapies that might help you as the diagnosing dr. what they would recommend they can usually refer you to someone for help
there are medicines you can get from the dr that help treat ocd. Thats probably your best and easiest option.
Failing that, try and break it down. Use your will power to go longer amounts of time and cut back bit by bit on how much you do it. This will only work if you have SERIOUS will power, or your prepared to draw on your personal strength.
You need to see a psychology professional who can prescribe medication for you. Maybe even your regular doctor can do this. A class of drugs called SSRI's have been proven to be very effective in treating your condition. You do not have to live like this. Good luck!
Bless! That must be horrid. I think a regular therapist who can also perform hypnotherapy would be best. Maybe Cognitive behavioural therapy would be good too... Are you on any OCD meds? If not you should see your doctor as they can prescribe stuff to help with the compulsions...
Behavioural therapy might be able to help you, my partner has OCD but its very very sever type and nothing has helped, not drugs not behavioural therapy... good luck.
Please talk to your doctor. There are medications that will truly help you with this behavior.
my friend has really bad ocd and he got medication from the doctors and also counselling, talk to your doc.

Does your significant other put lotion on your hands / body or nag about it?
So . . . I make my boyfriend use lotion on his hands [or body in general] a lot [or do it for him when he's being stupid] and he whines non-stop claiming no one else's girlfriend makes them do it. So, I'm wondering who does. =PDoes your significant other put lotion on your hands / body or nag about it?
I use lotion. I hate my hands being dry and chapped. I don't see anything wrong with it either. ----------------------Does your significant other put lotion on your hands / body or nag about it?
Maybe because no self-respecting straight man uses lotion! No, my gf doesn't tell me to use lotion though she nags me about my grammar. Um, my friend(whose a chick) tells me to moisturize though. Yeah right, like that's going to happen.
nope~

My hands get so dry! whats a lotion that can help?
The best on my list is Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lotion. It works great and my hands turn smooth and soft immediately after applying.
Gosh, I sound like I'm trying to sell it to you... But, It really does work :) Good luck finding a lotion that's right for your skinMy hands get so dry! whats a lotion that can help?
use any vaseline brand lotion. its so thick and it soaks in so fast, i LOVE it!!!My hands get so dry! whats a lotion that can help?
i use aveeno when my hands get really dry.. it works so well.
St. Ives- Intensive Healing (Advanced Body Moisturizer. Unscented Hypo-allergenic. Severe dry skin relief for sensitive skin.) This Stuff is great it is REALLY great!
Use Aveeno !
My hands used to be very dry, but after like 3 days of using it , my hands got smooth again . (=
Use Vaseline and put cotton gloves on your hands when you go to bed, then in the morning take them off and your hands will feel like heaven!
Don't use the Eucerin hand creme. My hand turned red and started stinging after I used it. (I have the same problem)
you could try lubriderm. It is dermetology (can't spell it) tested.. and works wonders!
or curel cream (intense kind) is amazing..
vaseline is very good to, and seems to work faster than any cream out there!!
(feels weird, works great!)
good luck.

When I was in Montreal last winter, it was so cold that my hands were falling apart. I bought a Clinique anti-aging cream which is incredible! It costs a little more than most, but is super moisturizing, even in harsh winter climates.
Vaseline (petroleum jelly) Works the best by far! If you want, go to Walmart or The Body Shop, and get this stuff called ';Body Butter';. I love it! It puts more oil into your skin, and very hydrating
Eucerin Calming Creme works for me.
My skin gets so dry and itchy in the winter. It's the only thing that helps.
Dry skin types have to be extremely careful to protect their skin. Yogurt-honey combination helps dry skin. Make an egg pack with a yolk, a teaspoon of honey, a tablespoon of milk powder. This is beneficial to dry skin types. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/korres

The problem here is what we are taught growing up. For girls it's a natural you have to take care of your skin. For guys it's learning a trade. Girls get babied, guys are told to toughen up. I never used to use lotion either and I still don't as much as I should. It is a habit that I didn't learn growing up and after my wife kept telling me I should I finally got into it. But one thing that helped me was that I ended up with a real good lotion that did something I wasn't expecting. After three days of use I took a my thumb and scrapped off the calius that was growing on the side of my big toe, the one the doctor gave me a knife to cut off and it was so hard to cut and here it just scraped off. I was hooked.Does your significant other put lotion on your hands / body or nag about it?
I am metro sexual... and a guy that doesn't take care of his skin/body is dirty in my opinion all men should take care of their body's and skin i wouldn't even need my girlfriend to tell me to put any of that crap on cause i already do on a daily basis...i use my moms body lotion ';Nivea'; Nivea for men Face lotion ';Apricot scrub'; in the shower all that etc.
you can put lotion on me anytime.
I'm an adult and I can take care of myself thank you. I'd rather not have a mom for a gf either. I'm a rough kind of guy, but that doesn't mean I like to stink. I make sure I'm on this side of civilized and can be out in public, but at the same time I don't go out of my way to use lotion EVERY day.
making your boyfriend doing anything sounds controlling. ofcourse a grown man is going to whine when you are talking to them and making them do something like they are your kid
No!
my gf used to put lotion on me from time to time only when my skin died out like seriously bad. other then thoes times, no she didnt want me to be all soft silky like that. she liked my roughness.
I don't really understand why you are like that, seems kind of controlling.
Sometimes I encourage my boyfriend to moisturise if I can visibly see his skin is dry, but I am not going to baby him and make him do it every day. That just seems, well weird. He is an adult, not a child, so stop treating him like one.

Self tanning lotion without orange hands?
I don't use tanning beds for my own reasons, so I use the self tanning lotion (usually jergens or bare bronze from Victoria's Secret) and they work really well with no streaks or orangeness. So my question is, how do you prevent your hands from turning orange (or being the only bright white spot on your body) without washing your hands every 5 seconds?
Also, what's the ballpark figure on spray tans? I hear they are the best way to go without using a tanning bed and would like to try it, but I don't wanna pay a fortune for it.Self tanning lotion without orange hands?
I use lemon juice on my hands and it gets the streaks off really easily...I have never been spray tanning, so I don't know how much that costs. Hope this helps.Self tanning lotion without orange hands?
Use plastic gloves when putting on the fake tan. Spray tans are 25 quid.
Ok, so have you seen the comercial for that lotion that tans naturally? I have it and it works FANTASTICAL!!!!! Its neutrogena natural glow, and its awesome! or the express tan form neutrogena, and it works in 3 days, with no orange hands!!! Good Luck!!! (you can get it at walmart for like $10)
u only need to wash ur hands once after using it,.....thats what i do..
why dont you try one of the spray on ones? most brands do them, theyre easier to use, no streaks. and there around the same price

My tanning lotion stains my hands?
My hands, especially around my fingernails get really grubby looking from the tanning lotion I use that has some self tanner in it. I also can't always get it all off of my hands with the towel in the tanning booth, so I get streaks and lines on my hands that look like red dirt (I live in OK, so it fits).
I'm obviously having trouble preventing this, is there anyone who knows a way to get it off, or am I just going to have to deal?My tanning lotion stains my hands?
another good tip, besides the wearing of gloves, washing hands and baby wipes (which are all good tips btw) is to slather on a super rich hand cream before using the tanning lotion.. It coats your skin and absorbs in, so the self tanner has a harder time settling into your skin. This is also a good thing to do around knees and ankles where skin is dryer and tends to absorb the self tanner at a faster rate cause steaks and blotches.
Don't listen to the people who say self tanners suck. If you use them right you can achieve a nice healthy glow. The main problem people run into is trying to go too dark, that is when you can get the orangy and streaky look. It is a much healthier way to get that sun touched look than exposing yourself to harsh sunlight and harming your skin!My tanning lotion stains my hands?
Quit using self-tanner. Use real tanning lotion and get some real sun on your skin. Self-tanner never goes on smooth, it never looks natural, and you'll always get streaks and lines, like you said, especially in the creases.
BABY WIPES! I had the same problem! They work great after putting tanning lotion on and you can also see the faux tan come off you hands as you wipe away!!
wash your hands right after and your dumb it turns you orange not tan people just dont wanna tell you when your orange cause its mean so i suggest you stop using it and just go to a tanning place
Wash your hands with warm water and soap straight after applying your tanning lotion.
Try wearing gloves when you put it on, like medical gloves.
Gloves.
use another brand!!!
then dont use it......?
why don't you wear gloves?
when ur done rinse straight away, use a hand scrub then re-rinse!
r u white?
I'm obviously having trouble preventing this, is there anyone who knows a way to get it off, or am I just going to have to deal?My tanning lotion stains my hands?
another good tip, besides the wearing of gloves, washing hands and baby wipes (which are all good tips btw) is to slather on a super rich hand cream before using the tanning lotion.. It coats your skin and absorbs in, so the self tanner has a harder time settling into your skin. This is also a good thing to do around knees and ankles where skin is dryer and tends to absorb the self tanner at a faster rate cause steaks and blotches.

Smart way to protect my hands from harsh lotions -- other than gloves?
I use a lotion with glycolic acid for my foot calluses, and it works great, but it's really irritating for my hands. I hate disposable gloves -- do you have a clever idea of how I can apply this lotion without getting it on my hands?Smart way to protect my hands from harsh lotions -- other than gloves?
Try dabbing it on using cotton balls or protect your hands using barrier cream (from pharmacies).Smart way to protect my hands from harsh lotions -- other than gloves?
damm, hate to see what it would do if you confused it for KY..

I have really dry hands from cold weatherwhat would be the best lotion to use without making my skin irritated

jwI have really dry hands from cold weatherwhat would be the best lotion to use without making my skin irritated
aveno is the best lotion you can ever get!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have really dry hands from cold weatherwhat would be the best lotion to use without making my skin irritated
baby lotion! i love the bath %26amp; body works stuff but all the perfume irritates my skin if i use them everyday so the baby lotion is great cuz it's very gentle yet moisturizing... for even more moisture, i use the creamy baby oil -- it's great!
Dove just came out with a lotion for sensitive and dry skin. That will help alot. You can find it at any store. GOod luck
:)
Try Etre Dead Sea Mineral Scrub followed by Dead Sea body butter. The mineral scrub is sea salt in an emulsion. The salt acts as an abrasive - you rub your hands thoroughly with it. This removes the outer layer of dead/dry skin. After than you apply the moisturizing body butter. After just a few applications, your hands will feel great. This stuff is expensive, but it's worth it. You can usually find it in your local mall at one of those kiosks. Otherwise, I am sure you can find a supplier on the internet. Everybody I know who has tried this stuff, including me, has raved about it's effectiveness.
VASELINE's CREAMY PETROLEUM JELLY
TWO WORDS: BURT'S BEES!! I have always been extremely satisfied with the quality and effectiveness of their products. I would recommend for hands the Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme. Don't use that Bath %26amp; Body crap...yes it smells nice but as far as effectiveness there are plenty of lotions that offer you more. Plus if you have sensitive skin (as it sounds like you do) you would want to shy away from lotions that contain lots of chemicals and perfumes...then again...this is coming from one of them tree huggin' types...have a great day, gorgeous!!!
Anything from L'Occitaine. If you don't have a store near you buy online. I just bought some for the first time and my hands, and the rest of me, is as soft as my baby girl ! AMAZING stuff!
Udder Cream is an excellent product. I buy it at walmart. It's the best you can find in my opinion. You may want to put some on your hands %26amp; wear a pair of rubber gloves to bed. The very next day your hands will be like new! Hope this helps. I've used it for about 10 years now, %26amp; it isn't scented, so no irritation. It's also very inexpensive!
Corn huskers lotion. You can get it at most all Wal-Marts.
I have always used lotions from Bath %26amp; Body Works and they work great when i have dry skin.
You might try Udder Cream. It was originally developed for use on cow udders, but now you can get the sasme stuff packaged for human use. It's a pretty thick cream, but not greasy. It's water resistant, so it stays on a long time. It's also helpful in preventing or reducing stretch marks on pregnant bellies.
i have the same problem my hands get so dry they bleed and it stings, but i use Aveeno. It may take a while but it works great!
Hi Dance, I have more damn allergies, it's a pain in the neck. I found a great lotion that does the job WITHOUT leaving you all slippery and greasy. If you handle paper work or instruments you can hold on to stuff..I got some as a complimentary sample in the hospital twenty years ago..Can't by it in stores...Like everything else you buy it is expensive in small quantities. $4-$5 for a small bottle. I buy this stuff by the gallon with a little pump. The last gallon I bought was $23.00 and the pump was about $5.00. The company doesn't have web, I do not believe. You can order it on the phone. You won't be dissatisfied.....Chester Labs Inc. Toll free....1-800-255-8461........It is called Hand and Massage lotion. The fragrance is light and clean. Try it, hell you spend more on a night out. This will give you satisfaction for a year....Buzz
cenaphil is a really good moisterizer if you use it alot
I use Jergens Ultra Healing lotion. It heals and softens your hands all day.
Hope this helps,

Why does johnsons baby lotion flake off when i apply it on my hands?. .is it normal for it to flake off?
That's not really normal no. Maybe the lotion is old or you just need something a bit stronger. The lotion is originally for babies so it is incredibly sensitive. I use it all the time but sometimes I need more mosturizing then it can really provide. Why does johnsons baby lotion flake off when i apply it on my hands?. .is it normal for it to flake off?

Will you rub the lotion on your hands and do it when you're told?
Creepy sounding, isn't it?Will you rub the lotion on your hands and do it when you're told?
i do things when i'm told so if told to yes i would. Will you rub the lotion on your hands and do it when you're told?
All right already....broken record!
Where are my supplies!
no, not creepy. Its a fact, our body tells us when we need to put lotion. For example, when the weather becomes dry our skin need hydration therefore, we need lotion.
It puts the lotion in the basket !
Not on my severed monkey hands.
Is it THAT important ??
I probably would!
not necessarily..
Nope
i rub the lotion with my own free will!
Not if it's you giving the order.
No. but I might rub the lotion on my SKIN and do what I am told..
Why, you wanna dress up like a beauty queen and make out with your dog??
very much so......
IT PUTS THE LOTION ON!!!!
Errrr... I'm not the right size. He needed a 14, or something, and I'm only an 8 or a 10. But if you're offering lotion, I'll certainly take some.
It rubs the lotion in its skin or it gets the hose again......
Youre pretty creepy for bringing it up.....
good bye horses Bill leave my skin in one piece please

has anyone else having this problem with the lotion only working for 4 minutes???Hands with dry skin..Lotion only works for 4 minutes!!?
uhm i have never counted the time lol.
but yeah my hands do get extremely dry sometimes and it can be really embarassing if you hold hands with someone.
but yeah. it always goes away when i do this: put on cream alot like at least 5 times in an hour for like two days.
it should go away. then, just apply cream like once every hour after that. they shouldnt be dry:)Hands with dry skin..Lotion only works for 4 minutes!!?
You can try this it should be more effective and last longer. Use aloe vera gel after bathing on the dry areas. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/
meee! omgosh, it's awful. my hands are crazy dry!! i've tried everything, nothing works. SUCKS! =[
Vaseline on them and socks or gloves at night before you go to bed. Do it every night or every other night.

I work outside and my hands are in bad shape from dryness and the cold, whats a good lotion or cream?
the below link is to the burts bee's hand salve that I got my hubby when he was a tow truck driver he swears by it.I work outside and my hands are in bad shape from dryness and the cold, whats a good lotion or cream?
You want something with AloeI work outside and my hands are in bad shape from dryness and the cold, whats a good lotion or cream?
Vaseline Intensive Care.
Vaseline its cheap and good
I have found that using Aquaphor is really good on your hands. Its kind of greasy BUT it works wonders on your hands. I love it!! I work at a child care center and my hands are in water alot so I go home at night and use this stuff, it works great!! I cannot sing its praises enough!!! You may just want to sit and doing nothing while the stuff is on your hands. Good luck and Enjoy!!
Honestly a body butter or Victoria Secret lotion. If you want the quickest way to get rid of it though then put Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly), you can find it in the baby care aisle at the supermarket, on overnight and by morning your hands will feel so much better. The Petroleum Jelly will add moisture instantly. I know it feels gross but it really does work. I use it on scaly skin that's been chapped by the cold wind, my feet, my face, and my lips all the time. I use it on my lips everyday. Good Luck.

I love it! Glitter lotion is like their kryptonite.
';Are you sure this doesn't have that glitter crap?'
';Yeah, it's fine, totally.';
';Dammit!';
Glitter and ultra smelly lotion is for women only. Sorry. It always makes me feel like my arm is infected with who-knows-what whenever some female friend or my sister would wipe any excess lotion on my arm. It's nice to smell from time to time, but that's it from our perspective.
that's funny, but no, it's not wrong!

My hands are always really dry every after I put lotion on it, how can u help me?
Exfoliate and wear gloves to bed. Make sure you're using intensive hand cream or butter cream type stuff. The regular scented kind you get at Bath N Body Works won't do. Zims Crack Cream works well, and you can get it at most pharmacies. My hands are always really dry every after I put lotion on it, how can u help me?
Thin gloves are really the best because you can put the lotion on thick without it getting all over the place.
Are you getting enough vitamins? Take a multivitamin and perhaps an extra vitamin E pill.My hands are always really dry every after I put lotion on it, how can u help me?
try getting a different lotion...one that moisturizes better. or see a dermatologist.
Coat your hands with Vaseline before bed and put on some cotton gloves. By morning you will have brand new hands.

I PERSONALLY USE IT ! GREAT I GOT BEAUTIFUL HANDS
Instant Manicure( ITS ON THE BEST SELLER TAG)
Take a dip and see smoother, softer looking hands instantly! Formulated with Dead Sea salts to gently exfoliate dead skin cells while natural oils nourish, moisturize and help protect hands and nails.
use vaseline with deep moisture cream its awesome
Look for a lotion without mineral oil, petrolatum, SD40 alcohols, chemical dyes or fragrances and animal by-products. These ingredients are known skin-irritants and the mineral oil/petrolatum may actually block the more beneficial ingredients from be absorbed. Herbal botanical based lotions are best.
Try a different lotion. Look at the labels and get one that say 'healing' on it. Put lotion on often.
Use Mary Kay's Satin Hands! It will help will all of it! Email me or go to my personal website for more info!
Apply more lotion?
make a past out of boiled potatoes and olive oil, smather on hand then put gloves on.
Try a lanolin based cream, it contains natural fats and oils that can help restore balance to the skin. Avoid using strong detergents on your hands and make sure you wear gloves when cleaning.
A more gross approach is to use the uncooked fat off a piece of lamb and rub into the dry skin areas - as for whether this is particularly hygenic is another matter....
sounds like your lotion isnt very good. Like the other replies I say try a better quality lotion and get some moisturizing gloves and sleep with a hand balm or vasoline. If none of this works see a doctor you may have a condition,
Exfoliate your hands with sea salt, then wear gloves with vaseline rubbed into your hands while you sleep.

My hands get SO DRY in the Winter..what lotion is the best?
My hands always get SO dry during the winter from me washing them a lot at work. The air gets cold and dry and then my hands start to crack and bleed and get extremely dry, red and irritated. They get extremely itchy and they hurt so bad. Every time I put lotion on them they burn even more...and a lot of the lotion doesn't help. What do y'all suggest is the best lotion with no scent and something that won't make the open cracks in my skin irritated or burn? THANK YOU!!My hands get SO DRY in the Winter..what lotion is the best?
Go the nearest bodyshop or online at www.thebodyshop.com. Look for hand rescue cream. It works awesome. I had this problem when i lived in Wyoming for a while. My hands get SO DRY in the Winter..what lotion is the best?
neutrogena hand lotion in the small tube. it works so well and you only need a little bit. I used to live in a cold climate and i've used it ever since.
I have the exact same problem. I asked the pharmacist and he recommended keri and it works pretty good. Sometimes I use my daughters baby lotion. I think it's called Johnsons Naturals. It's in a green bottle. I would also suggest lathering your hands with vaseline at night and putting gloves on. That helps alot if you can stand to wear the gloves all night long. They make thin ones that you can find like where the bath pillows and stuff are at Walmart. Hope this helps.
take oliw oil on them put plastic bags over and some cotton socks over them sleep like this and your hands will get so soft and not dry....lotion will only mak it even more dry...so only use oliw oil....
get some uddercream. seriously. best stuff in the world, they use it on chapped cow udders, but so many people started using it for the symptons you have, they sell it in regular stores now. if you decide to go for a regular lotion, you DON';t want to get one that has water as the first ingredient, that is only going to dry you out more, though it may feel good when you first put it on. get something with lanolin, or alo vera, or even petrolium or another oil as the first ingredient. i use old chapsticks that i would put on my lips any more on my dry elbows and feet, it works good, keeps me from wasting money, and is just as good or better than vasoline...which would work, too. one thing i do with feet is put some on before i put my socks on, and it seems to soften the dry cracked skin faster, and i have read articles that suggest if you have problems with your hands, put something on when you go to bed and wear mittens or gloves or even little baggies for the same reason, but that would drive me insane trying to sleep.
there is a creme for skin irritations prescribed by a doctor. I don't have the name right now but it works. or use hydrocortizone and lubriderm. also dont wash with hot water.
Gold Bond for dry itchy skin.
I have tried most on the market and end up back with Ultra Healing Jergens Lotion. I always apply lots while my hands are wet and rub it in until it is dry.
The Udder Cream is good at night with socks on your hands while sleeping. You can buy that at farm and animal feed stores.
You could possibly have a fungal problem and need to see the Dr. for a prescription for some type of ointment. Chappy hands and fungus together just makes it imposible to heal.
So many different answers here! What works well for one skin doesn`t work well for another persons. BUT......try anything with Q10 in it, like Nivea. Q10 really is a good moisteriser.
A dermatologist-friend of mine likes Cetaphil. I've tried it and it's great for dry skin. It is available over the counter.

Now her hands are really tan and her arms and everything else are really pale. It's kinda funny, but how do I tell her that it looks stupid? My friend uses hemp tanning lotion every time she washes her hands...?

Hello, I have a problem with my hands. they're peeling pretty badly, and i put lotion on them all the time. ?
Does anyone else hands do this or should i be worried?...its rather annoying and unattractive. HELP!Hello, I have a problem with my hands. they're peeling pretty badly, and i put lotion on them all the time. ?
Here's a neat trick, soak your hands in warm water for about 15-20 minutes, then apply a different hand lotion (I would suggest going to a store like Bath and Body Works or Body Shop instead of a drug store commercial brand) you may be allergic to certain types of chemcials in the hand lotion you are curently using; to them and wrap them in plastic wrap. The heat from your hands will help to absorb the hand lotion moefficientlytly. Repeat this once a day and overnight and your hand should look and feel better.
Also, if you work around chemicals at work, carbon fibers, coal tar, or whatever, chek the MSDS from your safety department and find out if the condition is work related which sometimes causes skin peeling
Also whenever you work with any detergents, dish soaps, gardening, cold weather that may chap your skin, always wear gloves and always carry small bottles of hand lotion with you wherever you go, at work, in your house, in the car, and place a small bottle in every handbag, purse you own so that you don't have to remember to transfer the bottle from bag to bag.
If your skin doesn't clear up, you might want to talk to a dermatologistist, this might even be a good idea now to see if you have any medical problems with your hands and why are they peeling. She may prescibe a prescriptionion strength hand lotion or anti-biotic.Hello, I have a problem with my hands. they're peeling pretty badly, and i put lotion on them all the time. ?
Put lotion on them before bed, and wear gloves. It sounds very weird, but it locks in the moisture and you should notice a difference in about a week. Use a moisturizer that is unscented and made specifically for dry hands. Aveeno makes a great one that last 24 hours, is non-greasy, and stays on through washing.
Good luck!
My finger tips are doing the same thing. I just talked to my doctor yesterday,%26amp; she said that i should take ';once a day'; that will help w/ my finger tips, also some dry patches that i have on my arms. Try that i hope it helps, I know how it feels %26amp; looks.
my hands do it to but i noticed it gets worse when i bar soap in the shower so now i use liquid body wash that's for sensitive skin and its not as bad as it was. or if i wash my hands to much it also gets worse.
There is some sea salt product that you can rub on your hands and it exfoliates them.. I forgot what it's called but you can look it up on the web. Also, try Eucerin hand cream or vaseline. They're really good products.
Try silicone glove from Avon and white cotton gloves at night. Do you work a job that puts your hand in constant contact with water and cleaner? If so silicone glove will help if you use it morning and night.
I have that problem too sometimes its because your stressed out. promise there is no need to worry but theres really no cure for it. it should get better though.
hope this helped.
my feet do it in the winter...
soak your hands in warm water for about 5 minutes then rub them with a pumice stone..it'll take away all the dead skin!
It could be a certain type of fungus i would have it checked out
see a doctor about that

They are less harsh than regular soaps. Put vaseline on your hands at night and then put on cotton gloves to sleep in. Your hands wil be soft in the mornings when you awake.

I have been using Jergens Natural Glow lotion, and it turned my hands orange....?
is there any way i can make this go away....my whole body isnt orange just my hands and in between my fingers i guess since i dont rinse it off after i put it on.
i just need it to go away so...? help...I have been using Jergens Natural Glow lotion, and it turned my hands orange....?
Try an exfoliator to help lessen the oranginess. But it will have to wear off. Don't put more on your hands or the color will keep getting more intense.
When it wears off, if you decide to use the product again be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after applying to your body. Or, even better use one of those cosmetic sponges to apply it to your body so your hands don't get stained.I have been using Jergens Natural Glow lotion, and it turned my hands orange....?
It dyes your skin so there is no way to get it off
try scrubbing very hard with hot soapy water this may help
I guess just remember that from now on you need to wash your hands after applying

Very, very dry skin on hands (knuckles) and lotion rubs off cuz I wash my hands often?
i get very dry skin around my knuckles in the winter/cold season. they look like aligators and then they always start bleeding in different places.
(i don't mind it that much because i like to make fun that i fist fight and those are the scars)
but my mom gets onto me about it, so i put lotion on often, but it comes off every shower and when i wash my hands. so, it doesn't even seem worth it to be on for about and hour and a half.
know any good ideas? thanks!Very, very dry skin on hands (knuckles) and lotion rubs off cuz I wash my hands often?
Cavilon鈩?Durable Barrier Cream. I have to use this to keep my skin from drying out. It works very well. Water will run right off of your skin, but will also keep your skin silky soft. It is made by 3M, and is used by a lot of health care providers now.Very, very dry skin on hands (knuckles) and lotion rubs off cuz I wash my hands often?
Get some surgical gloves and coat your hands in eucurin CREME, not lotion, sleep all night with the gloves on. That generally works for me.
paraffin hand dip 10 bucks at a spa.. eucerin lotion and gloves at night for a little while. continue eucerin on hands daily deep in pocket... make SURE you drink water... 1/2 oz per body pound water is first line of defense for everything in your body
Mabey you should use baby lotion and tea tree oil and it might work!.!.!.

baby johnson lotionI wash my hands alot. whats the best lotion to use on dry hands?
dont wash your hands too often..it's bad
working in a hospital, you cant tell me NOT to wash my hands...wtf! Neutrogena makes your hands greasy, baby lotion dont last long and Nivea feels like straight water. Heres the magic lotion.....Olay Quench~~~%26gt;good for black and white ppls
y not u try neutrogena's for dry skin..it works well on me especially during winter..
try using shea or cocoa butter lotion. or if u cant find that try something with aloe or a 24 hour moisterizer.
dont make your hands dry....
use milk and lemon for few weeks u may not need than for long time , later on u can use one/ twice a week.
atrixo, or e45 hand cream, theyre both a bit thicker so they wont just disappear as soon as they get on your hands like most creams do with really dry skin. but if your hands are getting washed because you are actually doing something dirty, and not just being obsessive, then try wearing gloves for the thing that makes them dirty.
Thier is absolutely nothing wrong with washing your hands a lot. But I would reccomend when you do wash your hands try to use a moisturizing hand soap. Their are a lot of hand soap's out there that dry your skin and that's mostly because they aren't intended for hand washing, or they contain a lot of drying agents.
A good lotion I would recommend is olay quench, it is really good for your hands, or your entire body;whatever you prefer.
Vaseline brand, called ';creamy'; formula, enriched with vitamin E. States ';concentrated dry skin relief'; and ';absorbs completely';.
My mom is a nurse and washes her hands constantly...plus, using latex gloves doenst help! She uses Bath %26amp; Body works healing hand cream...it comes in tons of scents and really works.
baby johnson lotionI wash my hands alot. whats the best lotion to use on dry hands?
dont wash your hands too often..it's bad
working in a hospital, you cant tell me NOT to wash my hands...wtf!

What can cause skin peeling on hands and fingers ? I've tried lotion but it just seems to peel more.?
Maybe try a pumice stone to get all the dead skin off your hands, then put lotion...Maybe a hot oil treatment (at a salon)What can cause skin peeling on hands and fingers ? I've tried lotion but it just seems to peel more.?
Look up skin conditions..there are a few things that can cause that. What can cause skin peeling on hands and fingers ? I've tried lotion but it just seems to peel more.?
My oldest son (15) has eczema(dry dry skin condition) and his hands and fingers are always always peeling. Try Aveeno for hands, works the next best beside a prescription. Just make sure you dont peel them worse by picking at them, you can get an infection if you do.
This problem is very distressing because there are many things that can cause this. There are chemicals that are put into soaps, shampoos, and other personal care products that manufacturers use to make it easier for them to produce some results that affect people in other ways negatively.
Sodium lauryl sulphate is potentially the most harmful ingredient in personal care products. This chemical is used in testing labs as the standard ingredient to irritate the skin. Industrial uses of this include: garage floor cleaners, engine degreasers and car wash soaps only to name a few. Studies show its risk potential to be high when used in personal.
Now go look at your toothpaste and see what's in that! It's full of garbage. The Sodium lauryl sulphate is used there as a sudser and it opens the pores in your mouth and lets the germs in. Shampoos use this garbage to cause sudsing action, but it opens the pores and allows the water from your hot shower to let all the garbage from tap water into your body!
The National Pure Water Association warns that water chlorination by-products known as trihalomethanes (THMs) found in tap water are implicated in bladder, kidney and colon cancers. The highest levels of THMs are found in the blood of people after they have bathed or showered. They are exposed via inhalation and absorption through the skin. One US toxicologist has likened a shower cubicle to an exposure chamber.
I now have shower filter that cleans the water of chemicals. It's inexpensive and you actually feel clean after showering.
Bar soaps are made from animal fat and lye. Bacteria feed and grows on it. Corrode and dry the skin. I have found natural soaps that work so much better and don't contain all the chemicals you find in store bought soaps that have all those problems. I don't use dial and I wish nobody else did either!
Change the type of salt you use. This can have a big effect on your skin. Table salt is sodium chloride that has been refined. It is terrible for you. Eat Pink Sea Salt. This contains many minerals and is good for you. Babies with craddle cap can be cured in about 5 days when mom gets rid of the Gerbers with sodium chloride and feeds baby about 2 teaspoons of sea salt per day mixed in foods.
Things like Glycerin Draws moisture from inside the skin and holds it on the surface for a better feel. Dries skin from the inside out.
Propylene glycol Called a humectant in cosmetics, it is actually ';industrial antifreeze” and the major ingredient in brake and hydraulic fluid. Tests show it can be a strong skin irritant.
Mineral oil and petroleum These come from crude oil used in industry as metal cutting fluid and industrial grease. May suffocate the skin by forming an oil film.
Basically, the condition of your skin is said to reflect the condition of your liver. Spotty, sallow skin suggests a liver full of toxins (waste products) and the body's attempt to excrete them. The diet may be too fatty, which reduces the liver's efficiency, and the colon may be sluggish, causing soluble waste matter to be too easily reabsorbed back into the bloodstream. The liver then has to deal with this waste for a second time, in addition to the day's new waste. In the long term it can get overloaded. This affects
not just your skin but also your general energy levels.
Skin is mostly made from collagen, therefore its overall integrity depends on an adequate dietary intake of nutrients required for collagen formation. These are mainly protein, vitamin C, zinc, copper and vitamin A. In addition, flavonoids decrease membrane permeability and so reduce the amount of harmful
substances which can penetrate into the skin cells. A lack of water causes dehydration of the skin and allows waste products to accumulate. I drink distilled water I make from a distiller. It tastes wonderful and the liver doesn't have to separate out the garbage found in other waters to form pure blood. I add things to the water after distilling that improve the water, as well like Green tea extract, DHLA (dyhydrolipoic acid -- to quench all free radicals), end chain B vitamins, etc.
Essential fatty acids are also important for skin health, and a deficiency of these, or a problem with their metabolism, can cause severe skin dryness. If your liver and or gall bladder are compromised in any way from eating poor quality food and bad oils, you will not be digesting your oils properly and you will get skin problems. A good test to see the condition of your liver %26amp; gall bladder is to take a capsule of cod liver oil and if you burp it during the day, you have this problem. You will need to detoxify the liver %26amp; gall bladder, change your diet to a healthy one and especially eliminate all SOY products and anything that uses any forms of SOY in them like soybean oil, ALL CANOLA products from your diet. These two oils are genetically engineered now thanks to Monsanto and will slow your thyroid down causing dry skin, as well as create toxins that your liver has to deal with.
Use olive, palm, coconut, walnut, avocado, oils. Salad dressings have the SOY %26amp; CANOLA garbage in them. Find one that uses safflower or sunflower oil. A good dressing is olive oil %26amp; balsamic vinegar. Don't buy any KRAFT FOOD products. They all contain the GMO oils like soy %26amp; canola. Kraft adds soy to their cheeses to make them cheaper.
There is one other possibility that may exist as well. If you have Candida or other fungus, this can cause dry skin. You need to eliminate all sugars like from soft drinks. This feeds the fungus and can cause dry skin. I would eliminate milk and start drinking keifer milk (flavored is best) along with a probiotic purchased from a quality company like: www.healthline.cc
Bottom line is that your skin is trying to tell you something. Fix your diet, stop using commercial skin products, drink lots of good water, be sure to eat foods like fish that contain iodine to feed your thyroid, and avoid the bad oils.
Good luck to you
Could be the chemicals in the lotion that are causing the additional problems.
Try either Aloe or Cocoa Butter. Just make sure they did not add additional chemicals for smell - that might make it worse.
My brother had a condition where his feet cracked, peeled and sometimes would bleed. He couldn't wear anything other then white cotton socks and had to let as much air get to it as possible. He also used corn husk oil or lotion or something like that. His was severe though. I knew a girl who had to wear white gloves on her hands in school also because she had this same condition. It sounds like you need to talk to a dermitologist. I'll give you a little hope though, if this is what your going through. My brother grew out of his condition.

Should a Bass Player put Lotion on his/her hands?
I am curious if the lotion would soften the callus' on the finger tips and therefore defeat the purpose of praticingShould a Bass Player put Lotion on his/her hands?
be a man. lotion's for b*tches.Should a Bass Player put Lotion on his/her hands?
Use the lotion. it will sharpen the sound.
I played heavy metal bass for 20 yrs and didn't use lotion.
That's what I was thinking. My sister tried to teach me guitar but I never could get callous. Use it on every part but tips of your finger
my friend said that when he uses lotion, his fingers kill him when he plays.
lotion isn't usually a good thing for bass players. exspecially if your getting ready to play a gig. true slides might become easier, but staying on the frets is harder. callus' are a good thing, if you have them, cherish them. I'm a bass player and my callus' arn't great, but lotion tricks your body into producing less oils that keep your skin smooth and soft. basicly, you'd become dependent on lotion and that stuff ain't cheep.
i think lotion is bad for strings... on the bass or guitar or whatever... plus i find it difficult to keep my fingers on the strings if they have lotion on them... but that could just be me. hope this helps!
lotion is bad for the strings, plus it doesn't give u that feel to plucking the strings.
sure u might get cllus' but who doesnt?
You can use a light oil, it does not dry out and helps your fret hand slide easily.
Light oil is good for the wood on the neck of the guitar
Lotion will dry out and get sticky.
Also the lotion will form thick clumps in your strings, eventually dulling the tone..
Bass players are known to boil their strings , every so often to remove the built up crud in them.
Since they are expensive it is worth it ,
On a regular guitar ,the strings are tossed out when they get flat,

I used tanning lotion on accident and now my hands are yellow...when will it go away?
I would exfoliate them really well. It will start fading by tomorrow and be gone in 3 days.I used tanning lotion on accident and now my hands are yellow...when will it go away?
lemon juice!!!!!! or nail polish remover, gross but it worksI used tanning lotion on accident and now my hands are yellow...when will it go away?
That happened to my friend, so funny. They went away eventually be patient. Maybe a week or so.
Buy some gloves.
You can either wait it out for a week or you can try using lemon juice on your hands. Just buy the bottle shaped like a lemon, and squirt it on a cotton ball, and rub it. It can take a while, and it may not work all the way, but from my experience, it has worked pretty well.
About a week it will be completely gone.
Unfortunately, it's in your pores and will release slowly, just wash alot, maybe exfoliate once twice a day, etc....it willgo away in a few days....If you just cant wait that long...I have heard of some kind of sun-less tanning solution ';removal'; that they sell at places like Sallys Beauty or another kind of Professional Beauty shop....I just dont remember the name of it, but, I'm sure they would know.....Good Luck
it should fade within a couple of days, if you don't want no one to see it then you can just wear some gloves! Good luck!
Try putting some lemon juice on your hands, it should remove it or at least fade it out a little.

My hands get really dry in the winter and lotion doesn't really work any ideas?
Try exfoliating them and then putting a heavy cream on your hands at night and cover your hands with cotton gloves. In the AM, your hands will be really soft and you can apply lotion throughout the day as needed. My hands get really dry in the winter and lotion doesn't really work any ideas?
For extra dry skin, you need something heavier than lotion.
A product that might work for you is Neutrogena Hand Cream ... you only need a little, but if you apply it more heavily before bed and let it work overnight ... and do this EVERY night, you will notice a difference. There are other cream-type products ... Eucerin is one. Another product is ';Udderly Smooth';, which is a thick cream (for feet, actually) that absorbs quickly into the skin.
You might even have some luck with a diaper-rash cream such as Desitin. Might want to wear socks or gloves on your hands, though!
Just try something in a cream (rather than lotion) formulation, and use it regularly. Slather it on generously at night. Throughout the day, use a light lotion, and try to avoid things that can cause your skin to dry (hot water, harsh soaps and cleaning-products, exposure to extreme cold and wind, etc.)My hands get really dry in the winter and lotion doesn't really work any ideas?
Lotion was not meant for hands and feet or face, it was meant for the body. The hands and feet need a thicker more concentrated base which they put in hands creams. I would suggest you pick you up a good hand cream, there are various types, so you will have to try a few to see what works for you. I ama nurse and I have to wash my hands alot and that dries them out so I use hand creams often. i like one they sale at Target and Vita Moist by Avon but the types and brands are many but when You find one carry it with you all the time and just put it on when you need it.
I like Lotil cream. It comes either in a jar or in a tube. I used to get cracks in my fingertips all winter, but applying this cream at bedtime helps heal them and keeps them from recurring. It's also effective for minor itches and sore spots.
Lotil cream is made in England. I get mine by mail order from the Vermont Country Store.

Best lotion for dry hands and feet?
vaseline exstensive care with aloeBest lotion for dry hands and feet?
I recommend using a scrub to exfoliate the skin (exfoliating can help the skin feel smoother and healthier since it gets rid of dead skin cells). I suggest using the St.Ive's Apricot Scrub for hands and feet. After this, you can moisturize with a good lotion (St. I'ves also makes good ones). Good luck %26amp; hope this helps.
PS: links below..Best lotion for dry hands and feet?
well, i discovered some lotion, it's awesome it's made with aloe vera, and doesnt have a lot of alcohol in it. i really makes a big difference, most lotion has drying agents. so that way you always have to use it or other wise your skin is mega dry.... well i hope this helps.
oh and i have another one made from hemp... that one is exellent.
NIVEA!!! It's absolutely amazing. I have really dry skin, except on my face, and in the winter I use Nivea with a base of vaseline (that's how dry I am). In the spring/summer, I just use Nivea and I am fine. It's not oily, it has a light smell, and you a little bit goes a long way!
Massage coconut oil well on your hands and feet half an hour before bath .After that apply a good moisturizer when the skin is slightly damp .
sorbiline cream my sister uses on eczema which helps, it also works for me - i ride horses hand the pulling of the reigns through my hands gives me kind of rope burn.

My hands are stained from the sunless tanning lotion. What takes that off?
Believe it or not, whitening toothpaste works great. Squirt some in your palms and rub your hands together for a minute or so. Rinse it off, then moisturize. Just make sure not to get the toothpaste on the parts you'd like to keep tan. Reece Witherspoon says she uses this technique and it really works. My hands are stained from the sunless tanning lotion. Time is the only thing that I have found that gets rid of the stain , you pretty much have to wear it off.My hands are stained from the sunless tanning lotion. What takes that off?
Lemon juice takes the stain off,so just get some lemon juice, put it on a cloth and rub away the stain
Wet your hands with hydrogen peroxide (2-3%) and scrub your hands with baking soda. If you have the time, you might want to soak them in a shallow dish in hydrogen peroxide as well. It has mild bleaching properties but is pretty gentle on the skin.
lemon juice, salt, and a loofa will do the trick! scrub scrub scrub, and you'll be good as new! :)facial lotion

Hand and Body Lotions...?
My hands get chapped quite easily. I have tried several products but in vain. Anybody out there who can suggest me a place where I can get some high quality hand and body lotions or moisturizers?Hand and Body Lotions...?
L'Occitane makes a fabulous Shea Butter based hand cream. They also make body lotions that rock too.
Also, after you've showered and towel dried, put some body oil on (Neutrogena makes a good one or you can just use baby oil but it's a bit slick). This will help seal in moisture. give it a couple minutes, then slather on a nice thick lotion. i like Vaseline Cocoa Butter cause it evens out skin tone and really gets rid of ashy dry skin.Hand and Body Lotions...?
Hey, don't worry, browse through this site http://www.castlebaths.com/body-moisturi鈥?/a> . Their products are purely natural and organic, so you will have better chances of getting fruitful results this time.
Body Silk @ Shoaza.com
I like it because it is fragrance free..
However, if you have severe problems you may want to look into ';utter butter';

Try lotion by Bodycology. I get dry chapped hands from doing dishes too much. This is what I use. It smells fantastic and it's thick. So I don't have to lotion my hands every hour. My favorite is the cherry blossom type. They make perfume too. :-) Try it. It doesn't cost that much either.
You can go to Target, CVS, WalMart or a place like that to get it.

My hands are always dry and lotion is getting pointless...?
all around my third knuckles my skin is kind of white and really really dry. I put lotion on them but then they are dry the next day. The rest of my hands are okay. I crack my knuckles a lot and bend my fingers backwards as well. Is this the cause? And how do i prevent it?My hands are always dry and lotion is getting pointless...?
HI Lauren
Rememeber 80% of our body is made up of water and if you dont drink at least 1 gallon day then you will have issues with dry skin amounst other issues.
best of health to you.
CheersMy hands are always dry and lotion is getting pointless...?
What you do with your hands probably doesn't help. I have extremely dry skin. I find that using lotion right after you wash your hands (every time) helps. I also find that the best cream for me is Aveeno. That is the only one that has helped. Also, you can use Vaseline or a lotion on your hands, and cover them with cotton gloves and wear them to sleep. You can buy the gloves at Bed, Bath and Beyond, or some place like that.
I don't know if this will work for you but I swear by this one for dry cracked skin.
Just before bed wash your hands in warm water with a mild soap. Next, slather on the Vaseline and put on a clean pair of cotton gloves. Wear them all night if possible.
You'll be surprised how soft your hands get.
Stop cracking your knuckles, harder said than done, I know my mom told me a hundred times if she told me once. On the dry hands....get vaseline, rub it in your hands at night before you go to sleep and get some soft cotton gloves to wear over the vaseline. It shouldn't take more than a week for you to see improvement. Good Luck and seriously dont't crack your knuckles they get really bigger later on in life. AAAHHHHH!
you should try to put on hand cream on a ever night
Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and use a face pack of ripe bananas and honey. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for dry skin at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/dryskin.html
Cracking your knuckles is not the cause. I would say more likely, the dry, winter weather is the cause. You might make an appointment with a dermatologist if it gets too annoying.
try applying olive oil or baby oil mixed with a few drops of water all over your hands. Should help.
You should trying scrubbing them when you take a shower and then put on gold bond hand lotion. my husband did this for his elbows and it helped
Try applying emollient oil on the skin around your knuckles. Emollient oil that you can try are olive oil or emu oil. Read these two articles to see if emu oil contains the properties that may just do the trick for you

when i got into the military my hands had that same problem. then when i was a driver i had to check the oil and power steering about twice a day. i didnt use gloves. i just used my fingers to wipe the oil off of the dipstick. after 2 weeks my hands were back to normal. this is the free easy way.
I have similar problems. Try Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Body Creme, found in most pharmacies. This works wonders for me. Vaseline and most other creams aren't helpful for my problem though.
Also, eating a lot of green vegetables and carrots may help. It seems my skin is better after drinking fresh vegetable juice. This may help repair the skin and keep it strong.
