OK, so I live in Colorado, which means super cold, dry winters by themselves. However, I also work with food for my job. Between the constant removing and replacing of rubber gloves couples with the normal dryness of winter, my hands are having some serious problems. I've tried several lotions and none of them seem to be doing the trick. Currently I've been using aveeno 24hr moisturizer and even that isn't helping. My hands are dry and chapped and hurt! Please can someone recommend something that works amazingly. Thank you.Chapped hands, in need of good lotion, recommendations please!?
if you dont mind fragrance get the cucina lotions especially for chefs. theyre made with olive and tea tree oils. i get really gnarly dry hands from washing so often. the oils help promote faster healing of any small cuts. i get the nourishing hand butter. i pay like 12 bucks for it but when i use it everyday as needed.. it REALLY helps my hands. they hardly ever get dry anymore. unless i stop using it.

another good one if you dont mind scents is the sally hansen radient hands, nails and cuticles. its got a great but soft citrus smell to it and is one i keep religiously in my purse when i can find it. (the stores by my house are always sold out so you know its good hahah)
the new vaseline lotions are great too! my friends mom works at a hospital and had tons of samples of the intensive rescue moisture locking lotion so i took a few and used it on my hands and it worked really great. and then when i went to buy it i found out they actually make one especially for hands. i didnt get it because i use the cucina one but i bet it works wonders on dry hands.
another thing you can try is the neutrogena norwegian formula hand cream. i used to use that until i began using the scented lotions. but its a classic.
i know how painful chapped hands can get. mine used to crack and bleed sometimes from washing them so much... those all worked for me so i hope they work for you. Chapped hands, in need of good lotion, recommendations please!?
Uremol cream.
If it doesn't work, then you have something wrong underlying your skin issues.
You might need a prescription for it but it's worth every penny. If you can't get the strong strength of a prescription, then look for any cream that contains urea, and it should help.
For extremely dry hands, coat them generously with the uremol/urea cream and wrap them with plastic wrap or wear dishwashing gloves over the cream all night long.
Try Neutrogena Norweigan Formula Hand Cream- it was made for/ inspired by (not clear from the advertising) Norweigan fisherman who had to deal w/ very cold and harsh weather conditions to their hands. Great stuff!
ok...the same thing happens to me during the winter, and this is what you use:
it's called Insituito Espanol ';Crema Savila Aloe Vera';. it works real dayum good. it lasts all day too.
Clinical strength Vaseline lotion works very well. Also use a humidifier when you are at home.
