Smart way to protect my hands from harsh lotions -- other than gloves?

I use a lotion with glycolic acid for my foot calluses, and it works great, but it's really irritating for my hands. I hate disposable gloves -- do you have a clever idea of how I can apply this lotion without getting it on my hands?Smart way to protect my hands from harsh lotions -- other than gloves?
